Get ready to meet today’s featured curator, Katie B. from Sideshow’s Marketing team! Here’s what she had to say about life lessons and love of her favorite fandoms!

Please introduce yourself to our audience.

Hi, I’m Katie B., and I work in Marketing. I have been with Sideshow for 2 years.

What would you say are your three favorite pop culture fandoms/licenses? Why do you like them, and how you connect to them as a fan?

Harry Potter, Disney, and Doctor Who. I’ve loved Harry Potter since it came out. I even waited in line at midnight in Windsor, England to get the 7th book.

Disney is something I’ve loved forever. I’m also including Star Wars and Marvel under the Disney umbrella. I came to Marvel and Star Wars mostly later in life, but was a huge fan of the X-Men cartoon.

Doctor Who was introduced to me as an adult and I absolutely love it. So many life lessons.

What from our catalogue would you recommend for likeminded collectors? What personally inspires you?

Recommendation #1: Miss Mindy Centaurette (Enesco)– I love Miss Mindy! Fantasia has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember and the centaurs and pegasi have always been my favorite. My 16th birthday was seeing Fantasia 2000 on a giant projected screen. When I saw this collectible, I knew I had to have it and I do own it.

Recommendation #2: Black Cat Steals Your Heart (Kotobukiya)– The Black Cat has become one of my favorite comic characters. She’s such a fun character and I love the J. Scott Campbell Black Cat covers for Marvel Comics. I love this playful take on her by Kotobukiya, as it really fits Felicia’s personality.

Recommendation #3: Fantastic Beasts Giant Niffler Premium Plush (Quantum Mechanix)– I’ve had my eye on this since I first saw it in our office. It is so soft and fluffy. He even has a detachable coin to put in his pouch! I bought him as soon as he became available. The only trick now is keeping him away from my bulldogs who want to cuddle him as well!

Anything else you’d like to share?

It was very difficult to pick just three products to recommend! So many of them are so fantastic and I am super excited about Atomic Misfit.

Come back tomorrow- Saturday, July 25th- for another featured Atomic Misfit curator from the Sideshow Team, as a part of the Sideshow Con 2020 celebration!
