Have you met Atomic Misfit?

This inclusive new collectibles and lifestyle brand creates and curates everything wild, weird, whimsical, and wondrous to inspire you and your individual style. This one’s for all the chic, unique, and misfit geeks!

Every month, we will be sharing a spotlight of curated items chosen by a member of the Atomic Misfit team so you can get to know a little bit more about how we choose our favorite items to feature under the Atomic Misfit umbrella.

Get ready to meet this month’s featured curator, Lauren N. from Sideshow’s Inventory team, who is sharing her take on what heartwarming, hilarious, and horrifying figures are worth taking a look at this Halloween season!

Please introduce yourself to our audience.

I’m Lauren from Inventory. I’ve been with Sideshow for about 2 1/2 years.

What would you say are your three favorite pop culture fandoms/licenses?

My favorite fandoms are DC Comics, Classic/Indie Horror, 80s comedy, and Gaming/Anime. I know that’s more than three, but it’s hard to narrow it down.

What from our catalogue would you recommend for likeminded collectors? What personally inspires you?

Recommendation #1: Pennywise Bishoujo 1:7 Scale Statue (Kotobukiya)– This is a cute pinup version of a classic horror character as designed by the artists at Kotobukiya.

This revamped and reimagined Pennywise should appeal to both male and female audiences, and is likely to grab the attention of even obscure horror collectors with its attention to detail, unique design, and blending of beauty and eeriness. Anyone want a balloon?

Recommendation #2: Hippo Figurine- Lazy Family Series (Manas SUM)– I own this figurine and in short: it is the light of my life. I would save this fat hippo before certain family members in a fire. This cute yet niche item is adorable and perfect as a desk-mate. Everyone can enjoy the appeal of this adorable critter.

Recommendation #3: Alphonse Elric & Edward Elric (Twin Pack) Sixth Scale Figure Set (Threezero)– This awesome twin-pack of collectibles is from one of the most popular anime series from the 2000s- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It’s is an anime revered among both obscure and mainstream fandoms, following two brothers facing innumerable odds to bring their mother (and their bodies) back from the dead.

The show is inspiring, and Threezero has captured so many details from the show with the swap-out accessories and figure features that translate the 2D art style into a 3D collectible.

Come back next month and meet more of the Atomic Misfit team with another curator spotlight!
