Court of the Dead and Cinema Makeup School’s Cleopsis Cosplay at Comic-Con 2019!
During San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Cinema Makeup School is collaborating with Court of the Dead, to create one of the most hauntingly beautiful cosplays we have ever seen. Ve Neill and Lee Joyner, two academy award winning VFX makeup artists, are leading a team of artists from the Cinema Makeup School to create a stunning Cleopsis Cosplay.
Cleopsis is a character from Sideshow’s dark horror fantasy, Court of the Dead. She was once the sole member of Death’s Court trusted to go to the Mortal Realm and learn about humanity. It was there that she gained so much power, that even the Celestial Realm turned its eyes towards her. Her power and her influence grew faster than even The Alltaker expected, and so he stripped her of her power and authority.
You can see the power and energy in her costume and her pose. Artists Madison Burger, Teisha Wheaton, Ve Neill, Lee Joyner, Nicholas Alvarez, and Kelsey Waldmann all worked together to bring Cleopsis to life. Here are just a few of the photos from the event.
Lee Joyner, from the Cinema Makeup School, talked to us about the cosplay project on Friday.
