Critical Role Cast Members React to their Statues

By Sideshow on Sep 5, 2023

During Sideshow Con 2023, two Critical Role cast members stopped by Sideshow’s studio. There, they got to meet collectible versions of their campaign characters. This interview was fantastic, funny, and totally 100% factual — essentially exactly what you’d expect from the two people who play Scanlan, Taryon, Nott, Percy, Mollymauk, and Caduceus.

Without further ado! Watch Sam Riegel and Taliesin Jaffe react to Sideshow’s Critical Role statues here or on Sideshow’s official YouTube channel. Then, browse Sideshow’s three-dimensional interpretations of these beloved Vox Machina and Mighty Nein members below!

“There are so many. They’re so pretty.” – Sam Riegel, 2023

Scanlan Shorthalt

Lords, ladies, and lovers of Tal’Dorei, put your magical purple hands together for Scanlan Shorthalt! Renowned ’round Exandria for his musical talent and comedic timing, this small-statured singer proves that size isn’t everything — though having a big flute certainly doesn’t hurt.

Depicted here as a high-level hero, Scanlan is ready to support his allies and annoy his enemies with his silver tongue and hidden heart of gold. He carries the sword Mythcarver, a Vestige of Divergence, along with his instrument that helps to channel his abilities. Held aloft by his own Scanlan’s Hand spell, he’s ready to give evil an encore performance of lyrical lashings.

Taryon Darrington

An author, alchemist, and arcane inventor in search of excitement and peril for his latest publications, Taryon Darrington has a new act of bravery to add to his list: joining your collection alongside the legendary heroes of Vox Machina. Though his dazzling gold armor might not be battle-worn, he is certainly ready to undertake all manner of death-defying quests.

Tary comes equipped with an enchanted helmet and his Rod of Mercurial Form, which has been transformed into a sword. The commander of the Darrington Brigade stands proud, looking every inch the damsel-saving, dragon-slaying hero he hopes to be.

Doty

Doty, take this down: This automaton, this arcane assistant, boasts the finest craftsmanship in all of Whitestone. He serves as both a scribe and a best friend, accompanying Vox Machina as they complete the quests that only true adventurers can.

The silver and gold figure stands poised with a red feather quill in hand, taking down Tary’s eloquent words and most grandiose feats of heroism. Fans with extra keen perception may even spot a familiar passage on the pages of Doty’s book, excerpted from an infernal excursion that ended in destruction.

Nott the Brave

Oooh, shiny! The Nott the Brave – Mighty Nein Statue is coming soon. RSVP to be the first to know when she’s available for pre-order.

Percival de Rolo

Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III (but you can call him Percy) is the father of firearms in Exandria. From dark dreams, he constructed his first weapon, exacting his revenge for the slaughter of his noble family. Depicted here as a high-level hero, this Percy statue embodies his keen eye for engineering and extensive travels with Vox Machina.

He is cloaked in Cabal’s Ruin, a Vestige of Divergence, that crackles with absorbed magical energy. Percival carries the wheellock rifle, Bad News, in his left hand, which is gloved with the electric gauntlet he calls Diplomacy. In his right hand is Animus, the pepperbox pistol taken from the cruel Dr. Anna Ripley. Its smoking barrel serves as a reminder of his ruthless aim against evil, earning him the nickname “No Mercy Percy.”

Caduceus Clay

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Caduceus Clay – Mighty Nein Statue? Pour yourself a cup of tea and don’t fret! He’s available for pre-order now, bringing his sagacious wisdom to your Critical Role collection.

As a gardener and graveyard caretaker, Caduceus is intimately in tune with the cycle of life and death as he accompanies the Mighty Nein on their journey. He clutches the Blightstaff in one hand and his shield in the other, representing his role as both a protector and dealer of divine punishment to those who abjure the natural order. Caduceus’ entire outfit is dotted with pink lichen, as he carries his connection to the wilderness wherever he roams.

Mollymauk Tealeaf

Long may he reign! RSVP now to find out as soon as the Mollymauk Tealeaf – Mighty Nein Statue is available for pre-order.
