Loan Shark: Blood in the Water by Eamon Stewart + Dani Kwan
Our inspiration came from media portrayals of loan shark characters with their gaudy garb, intimidating stature, comical hairstyles, and theatrical displays of wealth.
About the Artist
Dani Kwan is an interdisciplinary artist and educator whose research-based practice incorporates craft, design, and digital technologies. Their work has been shown at galleries and institutions throughout Southern California including TAG Gallery in Los Angeles, the Betteravia Gallery in Santa Maria, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. They have received grants from the Ventura County Arts Council, the University of California, and were most recently awarded artist residencies at UC Santa Barbara and Grand Canyon National Park.
Eamon Stewart is a video and time-based graphics artist from Ventura, California. As an avid “back-of-the-pack” trail runner and video game enthusiast, he enjoys exploring physical and digital worlds. Eamon currently works for Activision, directing and creating advertisements for games including Call of Duty: Mobile and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. His motion graphics and animations have been featured in documentaries including Netflix’s What the Health, Running for Good, They’re Trying to Kill Us, and Just You and a Pair of Shoes.

Jumping the Shark! A Custom Art Show features the works of approximately 30 artists — from the Sideshow studio and around the world — showcasing their unique, one-of-a-kind visions for the same 28” resin great white shark “blank” base figure.
Victims of their own outsized reputation, many iconic species of shark are in danger of extinction. In honor of the completed works, a donation will be made to the Shark Allies marine life charity for the preservation of these magnificent creatures, so that generations of artists can enjoy their thrilling, prehistoric beauty for decades to come.
