Emmy Award Winners 2025 List — the Geeky Version!

Yesterday, the 77th annual were held in Los Angeles, California. Your favorite television actors, directors, and creative teams gathered to celebrate the Emmy Awards and cheer on their fellow stars. Some wins were total shoe-ins, while a certain sweep surprised and delighted everyone.

Join us below as we round up the Emmy Awards — the geeky edition, that is! That’s right, this list focuses solely on Star Wars™ winners and more. So, go on, see if your fandom favorites won.

Andor

Dan Gilroy won Best Writing for a Drama Series. This award was given out specifically for Andor™ season 2 episode 9, “Welcome to the Rebellion.” Since airing, the episode has been a fan-favorite and garnered much online chatter from Star Wars lovers. Overall, Andor has been hailed as the greatest Star Wars project in recent decades.

The episode “Harvest” won Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes. “Who Are You?” got Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Period or Fantasy Program (One Hour or More). As a whole, the series also won Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Season or Movie.

Arcane

Netflix’s Arcane also cleaned up last night! Based on the hit video game League of Legends, Arcane won in the following categories: Outstanding Animated Program, Outstanding Sound Editing for an Animated Program, and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation. The latter award was given twice, for the season 2 episodes “The Message Hidden Within the Pattern” as well as “The Dirt Under Your Nails.”

The Penguin

Cristin Milioti plays Sofia Falcone in DC and HBO Max’s The Penguin. She won Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her performance as a troubled villain struggling for power within Gotham City. Fans hope to see her reprise the role in The Batman Part II, but information about the next film is currently kept under wraps.

Plus, The Penguin’s makeup team won for Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic) and Outstanding Contemporary Hairstyling in the episode “Cent’anni,” as well as Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup in “After Hours.” Continuing in that theme, the costume department won Outstanding Contemporary Costumes for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Meanwhile, the VFX team brought home the award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Single Episode — specifically for “Bliss.” And the sound team got Outstanding Sound Editing as well as Sound Mixing for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie, or Special in “After Hours.”

Lastly, The Penguin also received an award for Outstanding Musical Composition in the episode “After Hours.”

Severance

The Apple original series Severance led the nominations earlier this year. Notably, two of the series’ actors took home Emmys last night. Britt Lower, balancing her “innie” (Helly R) and “outie” (Helen Eagan) roles, won Best Actress in a Drama Series. Tramell Tillman (Seth Milchick) also made history as the first Black man to win Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Finally, Merrit Wever won Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Gretchen George.

Don’t forget the rest of the team! Severance won Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour or More) for the episode “Chikhai Bardo.” They also got Outstanding Title Design, Outstanding Sound Mixing, Outstanding Music Composition, and Outstanding Cinematography.

Additional Noteworthy Wins

Music by John Williams won Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program. House of the Dragon won Outstanding Period Makeup or Fantasy/Sci-Fi Makeup (Non-Prosthetic). The Boys won Outstanding Stunt Coordination for Drama Programming as well as Outstanding Stunt Performance and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. Additionally, The Last of Us got Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour) in “Through the Valley.”

While this list predominantly features the geeky winners, we want to give a few special shout-outs. The Pitt nabbed quite a few nominations and ended up winning most of them, including Best Drama Series. This is considerable for a series in its first season. Similarly, Netflix’s Adolescence swept the scene with multiple wins. Owen Cooper especially amazed audiences everywhere when he became the youngest actor ever to win Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. Additionally, Seth Rogen’s comedy series The Studio got a lot of love from judges this season.
