Fandom Rewind 2021: Event Overview

Sideshow’s Fandom Rewind 2021 runs from Monday, September 13, 2021 to Friday, September 17, 2021. During this weeklong celebration, we’re revisiting fan favorites from the ’80s and ’90s for an extra serving of nostalgia. Whether you grew up then or you just have good taste in pop culture, Fandom Rewind spotlights the movies, music, and TV of yesterday. No VCR required.

What is Fandom Rewind?

Do you love cult classics? Throwbacks? Then Fandom Rewind is the event for you!

Throughout Fandom Rewind 2021 fans can expect coveted content like Sideshow Rewards and game shows such as Trivial Cahoots, Cobbled Cosplay and Win, Lose or, DIE. There will also be giveaways, themed livestreams, and other stylishly retro content on our social channels as well as exclusively in Sideshow’s Facebook groups.

Giveaways

There will be tons of giveaways going on across our social platforms as well as within Sideshow’s official Facebook groups. To help bolster your chances to win, you should follow Sideshow across social media, click those notification bells to be alerted when we post, and keep an eye out for when we go live.

Flash Giveaways are quick, 15-minute contests held on Sideshow’s official social media accounts. You will have 15 minutes to follow the prompt given on the social post, and a winner will be selected from qualifying entries.

Giveaway Challenges

Giveaway Challenges are contests held on the Crowdpurr platform at sideshow.live. A social post will go live directing you to Crowdpurr with a special hashtag and access code. Once the contest begins, you will have 30 minutes to complete the challenge described and submit your entry. A winner will be selected from qualifying entries, and all entries have the potential to be showcased in Sideshow’s wrap-up livestreams and blogs.

New at Sideshow

New at Sideshow is a live chat designed to catch fans up on what’s new and to showcase the latest happenings in the geek universe! During the 9 AM PT weekday stream, we share the newest Pop Culture Headlines, collectibles, and more. You can watch older episodes on our YouTube channel now, and tune into many more episodes during the course of Fandom Rewind 2021.

Cobbled Cosplay

Do you love vintage shopping and classic fashion? If you’re into costumes, makeup, and watching people stress out over time constraints and fashion faux pas, Cobbled Cosplay is the one for you to watch.

Unlike our past episodes where people played by proxy, aligning themselves with one of our two Sideshow team cosplayers, contestants are competing for themselves now! Contestants are tasked with recreating a surprise costume in 10 minutes using only household objects and found materials — winner takes home the prize they are cosplaying as.

We started this with our Fan Week Cobbled Cosplay Supersized Showdown: Fan Episode and couldn’t be happier with the way you geeks turned out to test your costuming prowess. We are always in need of Cobbled Cosplay contestants for future events. Learn how to audition on our blog.

Win, Lose, or DIE

Do you wish you could climb into a game Jumanji style? If you like Dungeons and Dragons and horror stories, Win, Lose, or DIE is the game for you! This is a cutthroat Choose Your Own Adventure style game that results in somebody either going home with all the glory (an amazing prize!) or DYING (losing their shot at the prize). You have to correctly make it through all 10 steps of the game to reach the final step, so, if you die, someone will take your place and you’ll be gone for good.

We did say cutthroat, remember?

During Fandom Rewind 2021, Missy Haywood will be sharing her original story entitled “Mall of Madness.”

If the Win, Lose, or DIE game show sounds fun to you, you can play along live! Look out for an access code and link during the stream.

Trivial Cahoots

Trivial Cahoots is a little different than our other games because the audience gets to participate LIVE, answering 15-20 trivia questions using a mobile device as their buzzer. First-place winners get something special. Second- and third-place winners get Sideshow rewards for their account and bragging rights.

Unsealed and Revealed

Unsealed and Revealed is the most in-depth look you can get at collectible Sixth Scale Figures. Twice during Fandom Rewind 2021, you’ll be able to see full figures, their many accessories, any swap-outs or exclusive editions, and the full range of motion and articulation.

Sideshow Staff Picks

During our new Let Your Geek Sideshow exclusive livestream, Sideshow Staff Picks, members of the Sideshow team will be showcasing their favorite items from sideshow.com that fit a specific theme. Learn about our fandoms, our collections, and maybe discover a hidden gem or two on our website!
