On May 5, the third and final installment of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy will debut. This beloved James Gunn MCU film introduced audiences to Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord, and the ragtag group of space oddities who became a found family.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the High Evolutionary sends Adam Warlock to destroy the team. We’ll see more of Rocket’s horrifying past, Gamora’s struggle to fit into a new timeline, and maybe even more about Mantis’ revelation from the holiday special. The stakes are pretty high for the Guardians as they prepare for a battle which might just tear them apart.

Who Are You from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy?
Guardians of the Galaxy Members
As a team, the Guardians of the Galaxy first debuted in 1969 in Marvel Super-Heroes #18. However, this version of the Guardians was different than today’s team. Originally, the Guardians lineup consisted of Charlie-27, Vance Astro, Martinex (who appears as a Ravager in GotG Vol. 2 with Charlie-27), and Yondu. That’s right! Mary Poppins himself.
Eventually, Starhawk and Aleta joined, two characters who also appear in the MCU as Ravagers. These Ravagers will be returning in GotG Vol. 3. The Guardians as we know them, with Peter, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot, debuted in 2008. This lineup also included Phylla-Vell, a Kree with ties to Captain Marvel, as well as Adam Warlock.
Later, in 2015, the Thing and Kitty Pryde even joined an all-new, all-different version of the Guardians! Turns out the galaxy will always need guardians to save the day (and rake in the rewards).

Peter

Rocket
Quick temper? Check. Twisted sense of humor? Check. Deep love and appreciation for those you consider family? Also check. Just like Rocket Raccoon, you might be a trash panda on the outside but you will do whatever it takes to protect the ones you love.
Groot
You are Groot.
