Stark Week Day 2: Iron Man 2 (2010) Fun Facts
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe to his comic book origins, Tony Stark has amassed countless fans over the years. He first debuted as Iron Man in Tales of Suspense #39 (1962). Six years later, he had his own title.
Since those initial appearances, Iron Man has become a founding member of the Avengers, a hero to the entire 616 universe (and beyond), plus a constant fan favorite. Here are some fun facts about the movie that kept his MCU momentum going, Iron Man 2!
Iron Man 2 (2010) Fun Facts
Sometimes, there’s no need to mess with perfection. Though every successive Iron Man armor usually improves on an aspect of the previous suit, Mark IV is unique among its brethren. This new armor was mostly similar to its predecessor since it was constructed out of necessity when Obadiah Stane destroyed Tony’s Mark III.
Have you ever been on a business trip but needed to break out your super suit to stop an angry super-villain? Okay maybe that’s a problem specific to Tony Stark, but his Mark V armor is called the Suitcase Suit for good reason. Mark V can fit inside Tony’s suitcase, the perfect addition to any business meeting that goes haywire fast.
All that armor and tech is an ordeal to get in and out of, which is why Tony was constantly thinking of ways to ease the process. With the Mark VI Suit, Tony used a gantry system to help pick apart the pieces. It worked for getting into his suit as well as taking it off, saving him more time to be a billionaire genius playboy philanthropist.
Of course, with over six decades of comic book storytelling and nearly three decades of films, there is so much more to learn about Iron Man.
