Mark Hamill Visits Sick Children as a Force for Change in Orlando

Just before kicking off the weekend at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, Jedi master Mark Hamill, also known as Luke Skywalker™ himself, brought the light side to the Starlight Children’s foundation on Wednesday, April 12th.

He surprised children at the Florida Hospital for Children for the launch of Starlight Virtual Reality, a program that hopes to entertain, educate, and enable hospitalized kids to inspire their imaginations to the fullest.  Sponsored by Star Wars: Force for Change, the event included crafts, games, and “Jedi training” for the younglings so that they could learn the ways of the force and have fun on this special day.  Hamill visited with the children in their rooms and joined in the festivities.

At the event, Hamill also presented Starlight Brave Gowns with unique Star Wars™ designs that let the hospital patients to look like their favorite characters, including Princess Leia™, Darth Vader™, and Chewbacca™.

The Force was strong with this one as Mark Hamill brought some fun and hope to the hospitalized children in a way that only Star Wars can.  It will certainly be a day long remembered for the children and their families.
