Marvel’s What If…? Disney+ Trailer Explained

Marvel released an exclusive first look at their upcoming animated series What If…? The animated series features many of the characters we know and love put in entirely new situations, not because their role is changing in the MCU, but because there’s more than one timeline.

What If…? explores the Marvel Multiverse, not just the classic 616 universe. We get to see these stories through the eyes of Uatu the Watcher, who reveals the stark differences between realities. Just as the trailer says when it opens, Space, Time, and Reality are far more than a linear path.

In the trailer, we get to see T’Challa being taken in by Yondu, who offers young T’Challa the adventure of a lifetime. He takes on the look of Star Lord. Peggy Carter becomes a Super Soldier like Captain America, and Doctor Strange fights alternate versions of himself.

We also get a look at what appears to be Marvel Zombies, but without any context surrounding it, we really can’t be sure what might happen next.

Follow Uatu the Watcher through these vast realities, and prepare to face the unknown. Marvel’s What If…? is set to premiere on Disney+ in Summer 2021.
