The 8 Most Inspiring Quotes from Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 1

By Sideshow on Dec 28, 2023

Star Wars lore has dealt with it all — war, politics, forbidden love, defying destiny. Andor™ depicted the gritty reality of what it takes to fuel a rebellion. The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett showed that even the most unlikely bounty hunters can become heroes. But Rebels™ reminded us how family is always at the heart of Star Wars itself.

As a live-action continuation of the series, Ahsoka reunites audiences with a few favorite members of the Ghost crew. Add a dash of Force mysticism and the return of a dreaded enemy, and you have the recipe for one compelling series. Here are the most inspiring quotes from Ahsoka.

“Let’s just say I didn’t follow standard Jedi protocol.” – Ahsoka Tano

As we all know, the Jedi™ are a little strict. When it comes to the teachings of this ancient order there is not much room for interpretation. Unless you’re a unique Jedi like Ahsoka Tano™. As she once famously stated, she is no Jedi. She follows her own path for better or worse — often for better, since there is nobody in the galaxy quite like her. It pays to stand out from the crowd.

“Sometimes even the right reasons have the wrong consequences.” – Ahsoka Tano

Legacy is a difficult thing to make peace with, especially for Ahsoka, whose Jedi Master was Anakin Skywalker™. The Chosen One made some more-than-questionable choices throughout his life and often Ahsoka was forced to deal with the repercussions — just as she must with her own decisions.

It’s a tried and true adage, but the best of intentions can lead down the worst of paths. However, as long as we remain aware enough to course correct, even horrific consequences can start to be undone. Looking at you, Darth Vader™.

“The only time you are wasting is your own.” – Huyang

Okay so maybe Huyang™ isn’t the absolute best at giving pep talks. However, in his own brash way, he does encourage Sabine Wren™ to continue with her training and forge ahead. Even if she is the worst Padawan™ he’s ever met. Gotta love the confidence boost. If you’re ever feeling unsure about something just channel Sabine’s resolve.

“Anger and frustration are quick to give power, but they also unbalance you.” – Ahsoka Tano

Speaking of the dark side, this admonishment from Ahsoka to Sabine is rife with personal experience. Ahsoka herself is no stranger to feeling angry and lost, truly a chip off the old block if you also consider her teacher, Anakin. And as any Padawan can tell you, anger is not allowed among the Jedi. Fortunately, Ahsoka is more of a realist. She’s not telling Sabine to suppress her emotions, as Yoda™ once did to young Ani, but rather to be aware of their effects.

“We have to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.” – Hera Syndulla

As she pushes the New Republic Senate to see that Grand Admiral Thrawn™ will return, Hera Syndulla’s™ mission grows more and more urgent. They simply do not want to face the terrifying reality this Imperial villain could ever threaten the galaxy again. But we can all learn something from Hera as she keeps fighting for what she knows is right, never once losing trust in her own voice.

“One is never too old to learn, Snips.” – Anakin Skywalker

The bittersweet pangs of nostalgia are ever-present in the fifth episode of Ahsoka, “Part Five: Shadow Warrior.” Via The World Between Worlds™, Ahsoka revisits the Clone Wars™ along with her former Master, Anakin. At the outset, her memory of Anakin is still benevolent though he grows more sinister as Ahsoka delves further into her memories.

While it’s painful for Ahsoka to relive the trauma of the war, Anakin still gives her a reminder that we would all benefit from sticking to — learning doesn’t stop no matter how old you are. Keep an open mind, every Jedi must!

“I choose to live.” – Ahsoka Tano

Nearly every Star Wars saga contends with one’s legacy — especially in relation to those who came before. But in Ahsoka’s case, just like Luke™ and Leia™ and even Rey™, facing one’s past is haunting. We’re reminded not only of our own mistakes but the mistakes of those we care about. It’s intimidating. At times, even hopeless.

But there’s always a choice in the path we take. Once Ahsoka remembers the power is hers to choose, she regains the agency she had lost.

“I don’t have time for this.” – Ahsoka Tano

Every time Ahsoka must face Baylan Skoll™, the enigmatic ex-Jedi talks a whole lot of trash. He enjoys rubbing it in Ahsoka’s face that her Master’s legacy has left behind a trail of pain across every star system. But Ahsoka isn’t one to shy away from a good verbal spar, so Baylan definitely meets his match.

After they reach Peridea™, Ahsoka is no longer messing around. She’s trying to get her family safely back into their galaxy so she lets Baylan know she doesn’t have time for his antics. In case anybody wasn’t sure, Ahsoka still lives up to her nickname, Snips. It never hurts to snip away what (or who) is holding us back!

With eight episodes total, these eight quotes only scratch the surface of what Ahsoka offers. Of course, that’s to be expected with a titular hero as complex as Ahsoka Tano. There are always more shadows in the starlight to uncover.
