POLL: Decide the Best 2023 Star Wars Show

By Sideshow on Jan 1, 2024

2023 was a great year to be a Star Wars fan! Well, let’s be honest — every year is a good year to be a Star Wars fan. But in 2023, we got three epic and amazing Disney+ original series set in our favorite galaxy far, far away.

Whether you love the Jedi™ and Sith™ the most, or the clone troopers™, Mandalorians™, and bounty hunters, 2023 had something for everyone. The question is … which was the best? Below, vote in our poll to determine the absolute best Star Wars show released in 2023!

Ahsoka Season 1

“Let’s just say I didn’t follow standard Jedi protocol.”

Ahsoka Tano™ is one of the most beloved Star Wars characters of all time. While she features heavily in the Rebels™ animated series — which is basically the best Star Wars media EVER — fans always considered her story unfinished. So imagine the surprise and excitement when she popped back up in live action! Not only that — she finally got her own solo series. Ahsoka™ is a love letter to Rebels fans and everybody who ever felt seen, heard, and loved by Snips and her misfit allies.

Ahsoka isn’t just about this terrific Togruta™. No, the series explores Sabine Wren’s™ potential as a Padawan™. It also brings back an iconic baddie in Grand Admiral Thrawn™. Pushing the boundaries on what we know about the Force, Ahsoka both starts and finishes the stories of many characters who rank highest on people’s lists of all-time faves. Plus, it has live-action Loth-cats™. What more is there to say?

The Bad Batch Season 2

“Good soldiers follow orders.”

All of the Star Wars animated projects deserve a whole lot more recognition than they usually get. Especially because The Bad Batch season 2 is such a standout among all the TV series. Tracing its roots back to the critically acclaimed The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch pushes further the idea of humanizing and empathizing with the clones. It does so by making them even more unique; that is, the “defective” clones get the spotlight in these bite-sized episodes. The Bad Batch also ties into the larger Star Wars universe without viewers needing to consume every single piece of content to understand the story.

Additionally, The Bad Batch tackles some really important themes. Never shying away from the darker narratives, the series has highlighted inequality and injustice, ableism, and more. If that isn’t appealing enough, there are plenty of characters with relatable or just plain entertaining personalities to keep you captivated. With a super strong season 2 and a third season on the way, this is your sign to hit play if you haven’t already.

The Mandalorian Season 3

“You walk both worlds.”

We honestly can’t get enough of space Westerns. If you love a little mercenary and gruff-dad-with-a-heart-of-gold action in your sci-fi, you’re probably head-over-heels in love with The Mandalorian. Season 3 gave us even more exciting adventures with Din Djarin™ and his adopted son, Grogu™ (AKA the baby that broke the internet). We also got more Bo-Katan Kryze™, finally saw the defeat of Moff Gideon™, and witnessed a Mythosaur™! How cool is that?

Of course, The Mandalorian has many years left and endless planets to explore, from the Outer Rim™ to maybe another political-intrigue-plot trip to Coruscant™ with Dr. Pershing™. It’s almost like a video game, letting us jump from one star system to another while The Mandalorian completes his tasks. Above all, though, we’d love to just see Mando and Grogu get domestic in their little house on the prairie … we just hope the peace of season 3’s finale can last.
