POLL: Best Star Wars Celebrations, Parties, & Performances
Congratulations — you, yes YOU, are officially the galaxy’s most coveted guest! All the celebration invitations for this rotation are out, and all the hosts are awaiting your RSVP. And because you’re still pretty new to the Star Wars™ party scene, they’ve enclosed descriptions of each of the events below.
The best part? All you have to do is pick which one to go to … no pressure. We’re sure there aren’t any wookiees™ waiting around to rip your arms off if you offend them.
Yavin 4 Royal Award Ceremony
Let’s go, Rebels! After fighting to secure the safety and prosperity of the entire galaxy, it’s time to celebrate that hard-earned victory. What better way than to dress up nice and hand out some shiny gold medals on Yavin 4™? Granted, this is a bit of a spectator sport rather than a participatory party. But we bet the yummy food down the hall and the social shenanigans after will make up for the prim and proper start of it all.
Darth Vader’s Funeral
This is a more solemn affair. It’s also pretty private — like, family-only guest list — so count yourself privileged to be invited in the first place. If you do go, the dress code is black. That’s mandatory. Also, you might want a respirator with all those flames and ash floating freely in the air. But if you want to honor the late Darth Vader™ / Anakin Skywalker™, this is the place to be.
Freedom Day / Victory Parade on Naboo
Sing the song of freedom with the people of Naboo™! Celebrated planet-wide, this occasion marks a special day in history for everyone involved. It proclaims peace between the planet’s inhabitants. Also, it celebrates Naboo’s independence after defeating their Separatist captors. Make sure to dress up for this fancy, semi-formal gathering, and then get ready to dance clumsily with a Gungan™ or two.
Ewok Party on Endor
Have you ever seen a helmet used as a drum? Well, you can if you party with the ewoks™. When you find yourself in the peaceful forest on Endor™, search high into the tree canopies to reach the Ewok Village™. There, you’ll be able to join Han Solo™, Luke Skywalker™, and Leia Organa™, among many other critters and droids. They’re enjoying their victory against the Empire — and so can you!
Max Rebo Band at Jabba’s Palace
Live music? Check. Dancing and crowded spaces? Check. A little thrilling murder to keep the atmosphere just right? You know it’s already a check! If all these items are on your list for the best get-together ever, travel to Jabba’s™ Palace. This Hutt™ sure knows how to party. Plus, he has the credits to keep the Max Rebo Band™ playing on repeat — even if you’ve gotta pack it up and travel on a barge for a couple days.
Empire Day / Ezra Bridger’s Birthday
This could go one of two ways depending on where your loyalties lie. If you’re all for the Empire, join the stormtrooper™ procession. There’s galaxy-wide parades, fireworks, and oppression to look forward to. On the other hand, if you’re more the rebellious type, you may want a nice evening with your found family. Join the Ghost Crew members Hera Syndulla™, Sabine Wren™, Zeb™, Chopper™, and Kanan Jarrus™ as they celebrate Ezra Bridger’s™ birthday — which will probably feature delicious meilooruns™.
Boonta Eve
Perhaps you don’t think it’s a proper party unless there’s some gambling and life-or-death stakes. Totally valid. In that case, head to Tatooine™ for Boonta Eve™. You can either watch or enter into various competitions like the podracing™ spectacle. The Hutts also usually throw some feasts. You might want to blend in with the locals, though, because it’s rumored that the bandits in Mos Espa™ have a nasty habit of mugging outsiders.
So, which one of these Star Wars celebrations will you attend? Get excited with your fellow attendees at side.show/geekgroup or in the Sideshow Social Network, and don’t forget to Let Your Geek Sideshow!
