Rogue One-Liners: The 7 Best K-2SO Quotes
When Star Wars™ debuted its first standalone film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story™, an unexpected star rose up from the scrap heap: the reprogrammed KX Enforcer Droid™ named K-2SO™.
Voiced by Alan Tudyk, K-2SO proved integral to assisting Jyn Erso™ and Cassian Andor™ on their journey to save the Rebellion. However, he wasnât always the most altruistic droid, delivering his assessment of the situation with his signature dry wit.
Over the course of the film, it becomes clear that the sass is strong with this one â which is why fans fell in love. Back in 2017, Alan Tudyk even took a picture of the life-size K-2SO figure Sideshow debuted during SDCC weekend.

Here are some of the best K-2SO quotes Rogue One has to offer.
âDid you know that wasnât me?â
After a tense battle with stormtrooper™ forces on the desert planet Jedha™, Jyn and Cassian are prepared to defend themselves against any threat â including Imperial droids. After Jyn shoots a K-2SO lookalike, he wonders if she knew she shot the right droid.
âIâve got a bad feeling about th-â
Bad feelings in the Star Wars universe are almost as omnipresent as the Force itself. In Rogue One, K-2SO warns Cassian and Jyn that he has a bad feeling, but he is quickly silenced as the team moves to infiltrate Scarifâs™ data tower.
âCongratulations, you are being rescued.â
These are the first words we hear K-2SO speak, and they perfectly sum up his character. After grabbing Jyn and slamming her to the ground, he sarcastically congratulates her on her rescue from Imperial forced labor.
âYour behavior, Jyn Erso, is continually unexpected.â
Earlier in the film, Jyn and K-2SO get into a brief moment of tension due to the fact that the woman has obtained a blaster, while Cassian wonât give one to the droid. After Jyn gives up her blaster on Scarif, the two experience a bonding moment as K-2SO is trusted with the safety of the Rebels while they steal the Death Star™ plans.
âThere is a 97.6 percent chance of failure.â
If there is one thing droids love, it is giving the odds of danger in bad situations. Just ask C-3PO™! K-2SO is not shy about telling Jyn and Cassian the probability that their mission on Jedha will fail. Not quite a morale booster, this one.
âI find that answer vague and unconvincing.â
When Jyn first finds a blaster to use, K-2SO asks her how she obtained it. This is his response to her, although it works well as a deadpan response to a lot of questions, not just about blasters.
âIâll be there for you. Cassian said I had to.â
Rebellions are built on hope, but in this case, Cassian wouldnât let his robotic friend rebel against their plans. K-2SO reluctantly offers support to Jyn and comes along with the others as they launch one of the Rebellionâs biggest, and most critical, missions.
While he may be a reprogrammed, reformed Imperial droid, K-2SO did not lose any of his wit and cynicism. He had some of the best one-liners in the whole of Rogue One, and by the end he proved that beneath his metal exterior was a heart of gold.
Would you want K-2SO to be part of your Rebellion against the Empire? Do you think he’ll make an appearance in Andor™? Keep the conversation going with other Star Wars fans over at side.show/geekgroup, and donât forget to Let Your Geek Sideshow â Cassian said you had to.
