Ser Sideshow Fights Back in Sideshow’s Upcoming Roguelite Platformer Steam Game, Palace Perils!

Following the success of the mobile hit Phoney Phantoms, Sideshow is thrilled to announce Palace Perils — an all-new, narrative-driven platformer game with roguelite elements. As the hero Ser Sideshow, players will rebel against the evil King’s rule and fight their way through the unpredictable, ever-changing palace plagued with poltergeists and propaganda.

The Gameplay

Sideshow’s Palace Perils gives players more creative control than any prior Ser Sideshow video game. This platformer has all the classic mechanics. Move where you’d like, jump where you’d like, and even do a Sonic-style spin attack! But more than that, players will be able to literally bounce off of every single wall in the game. And if you time your Bounce and attacking just right, you’ll be able to Chain attack between enemies.

The whole world becomes your playground as you ricochet through the Palace at lightning speed, defeating The Scarlett Sentry’s illusionary officers along the way! It takes perfect timing and precision, but it’s a mechanic made for mastering.

The Story

In this game, you’ll play as Ser Sideshow, and yes, you’re reading that right! It’s Ser spelled with an “e,” a common gender neutral honorific for knights of old. The use of Ser as a title has been used for knights since medieval times, and it’s even used in Game of Thrones for Ser Brienne of Tarth!

And you’re jumping right back into those medieval times in Palace Perils, where a knight in shining armor is fighting back against the hordes of illusions created by their nemesis, The Scarlett Sentry.

Rory’s Story

But beware… After every attempt, The King himself writes slanderous headlines about our hero. Those newspapers are easy to access in the archives — yet something is amiss. Why do modern day history books say you and The King were the best of buds?!

Luckily, a Ser Sideshow-obsessed punk rocker named Rory is tracking down the hidden truth about your adventures. History may be written by the victor, but this chapter isn’t finished just yet. Rory won’t stop until The Kingdom’s lies are finally exposed, and the real story of Ser Sideshow is uncovered.
