How and when did you start collecting?
I’ve been padding my nest since birth. I’ve always had a desire to envelope myself in happy and colorful spaces. Once confined to my black-lit boyhood bedroom, now my entire home consists of pop Americana. My first true collectible was a Mercedes Benz grill I took from a ‘junk yard’ while exploring with my other 10 yr. old buds. I didn’t know folks paid for ‘junk’ and was clueless to shotguns and guard dogs. I still display it proudly.
What do you collect? Does your collection have a theme, such as Star Wars collectibles, Batman, etc.?
I collect anything American, bright, and shiny. I love penny arcade games, tinplate toys, motion neon and advertising pieces that personify product; Hamms Bear and the Blatz Beer guys as examples. For figurines, I favor females that portray cunning and strength.
What makes your collection unique?
Due the abundance of my ‘stuff’, my home has become a place to explore as well as chill. Sideshow has provided an extra scale, an extra dimension, and level of detail that adds to that activity. For instance, I accentuate my pinball machines with relative figures such as Indiana Jones and Elvira.
What are your favorite or the most prized pieces in your collection?
That changes with the tide and due to all the weaponized ladies surrounding me, albeit quarter scale, I defer comment.
What items are on your wish-list?
Thanks to Sideshow, this is a long list: P.F. Lady Deadpool, takes the art of creating motion to a new level. I would love to have the first Prime 1 Harley Quinn, the full set of Tweeterhead Munsters. Aside from Sideshow, the dancing chorus line of M&M’s from the F.A.O. stores.
