How and when did you start collecting?

I started collecting in 1993 at the age of 10. My father was military and we were stationed in Germany. My mother worked at the Stars & Stripes Bookstore on post and was a short walk from school. I would visit when she was working and began to read the comics while she conducted her duties. I really fell in love with Marvel, especially with the X-Men. Over the years I had breaks in collecting but always returned to it. After my own 10 year tenure in the Army I began to display my collection in my office. It was well received by my children and friends. Even my wife got into collecting and has a good number of pieces within.

What do you collect? Does your collection have a theme, such as Star Wars, Batman, etc.?

My collection encompasses the entire fandom. I have Marvel, DC, gaming, anime, manga, horror, TV, and movies. I collect comics, trading cards, figures, statues, Funko, original artworks, costumes, and misc. memorabilia. Really anything that I find value and utter awesomeness in.  I find the most pleasure in the hunt for treasured items to add. Each item has a story and therefore increases the personal value.

What makes your collection unique?

Most definitely the diversity. I have yet to come across another collection quite like mine. Many collectors pick a certain genre and stay with it. I have no interest in picking sides, I love it all. I will spend hours and hours on my display and I’m very proud of how it turns out.

What are your favorite or the most prized pieces in your collection?

Right now my number one favorite piece is my Sideshow Marvel Archive Archangel wings. I also have a special place in my heart for my Age of Apocalypse busts. AoA is my favorite seminal event.

What items are on your wishlist?

The top two items on my wishlist both come from Sideshow. The Hulk vs. Wolverine maquette and Wolverine life-size bust.
