Thanos on Throne Maquette

“I hold the galaxy in my palm — ready to crush it like an eggshell!”

Sideshow is proud to unveil one of our boldest and most ambitious Maquettes to date, depicting the Mad Titan himself in all of his cosmic glory. Behold! Thanos…

Possessing a truly formidable intellect, this master tactician and battle strategist commands an armada of battleships that ravage and raid every corner of the universe. Twisted and mutated by self-inflicted physical augmentations (both mystical and scientific in nature) and encased in virtually impenetrable armor – Thanos is without a doubt one of the most dangerous beings in the Marvel Universe.

Sideshow’s new maquette simply has to be seen to be believed, standing over 20” high and 18″ wide this highly detailed museum-quality statue represents our artist’s ideal personification of Thanos at his most powerful.

Every inch of the character’s design was developed to convey strength and hostility.  Artist Zac Roane added:

“His bodysuit and armor had to be otherworldly. None of this was made on Earth. It was either grown or crafted by master space artisans.”

He added: “His armor, his crown, the design language we used was all about aggression. He’s intimidating. He should look unsafe to touch! His physique is larger than life. He’s supposed to be enhanced and augmented by both magic and technology. He’s massive! Even his eyes are extraordinary. If you look closely you can see galaxies reflected in his gaze. All those tiny worlds to conquer – he’s got his eyes on the prize!”

When working on a suitable pose for the Masterlord, Roane and his fellow Sideshow Artists took a similar approach.

“Thanos has a presence. He isn’t resting or at ease. He has purpose. He owns this. He owns everything!”

Thanos leans forward, one armored fist literally crushing the ornate skull on the arm of the throne – and what a throne it is!

Roane said:

“His throne has its own mythos. It’s practically a character in its own right, it’s even capable of interdimensional travel, but the look and design of the throne has changed a lot over the years. Like his armor, it is not of our world. Men didn’t make this thing. It’s bigger than us.We wanted it to tell a story, of course it’s a nod to all of Thanos’s vanquished foes, but it’s also a monument to his love of Mistress Death. I think fans will love pouring over all the little details we worked into it.”

The Sideshow Exclusive variant features a swap out classic portrait that draws inspiration from his iconic comic book appearances.
