Top 10 Bill & Ted Movie Quotes

Welcome to this absolutely rockin’ list of Bill and Ted’s best quotes. These two time-traveling rock stars have found a home in our heart, our vocabulary, and even our collections. While they might not be the most eloquent of philosophers, Bill Preston and Ted Logan are wise beyond their years, living life to the fullest by being excellent to each other and everyone they meet.

What started in the Circle K would only get more excellent over time! Let’s travel back and find our favorite Bill & Ted movie quotes from across their many journeys.

10. “Rufus!”

The adventure begins and ends by greeting the time traveling expert Rufus, played by legendary comedian George Carlin. Their story truly comes full circle (Circle K?), and there’s no greater celebration or adulation than when they finally see Rufus again.

9. “If you guys are really us, what number are we thinking of?”

The movie put its best foot forward and set the tone with its humor. This movie was for Wyld Stallyns, and there’s really only one number on their mind. (The answer is of course 69, dudes!)

8. “How’s it goin’, royal ugly dudes?”

Bill and Ted certainly had a lot to learn about courtly manners, but the audience didn’t mind. They said exactly what was on their minds, and it was exactly what we were thinking too!

7. “You killed Ted, you medieval dickweed!”

First of all, this was not very excellent of him. In fact, we’d go so far as to call it Bogus. Sure, all’s well that ends well, but in the moment, Bill had to let off some steam. This movie had no shortage of good insults.

6. “All we are is dust in the wind, dude.”

Complicated and ground-breaking philosophy might have been difficult for his contemporaries, but Socrates [pronounced: Soh-crayts] can appreciate the (mostly musical) education of the future generation!

5. “Iron Maiden? Excellent!”

It wasn’t that unusual for Bill and Ted to get confused in conversation, and when they were sentenced to execution, they didn’t quite pick up on it right away.

But who can blame them? Iron Maiden’s got killer music, dude. Hardly seems like a punishment!

4. “The only true wisdom consists in knowing that you know nothing.’” “That’s us, dude!”

Wisdom is hard to come by these days, but once again, Bill and Ted truly understand Socrates… perhaps not the way that he intended though.

The duo had a knack for philosophy through comedy.

3. “The best place to be is here. The best time to be is now, and all’s we can say is… let’s rock!”

They’ve been all throughout time and space. They’ve traveled to hell, heaven, and back again. They’ve been all around, but Bill & Ted know there’s no better place to be then exactly when and where you are!

2. “Be excellent to each other.”

This is the guiding philosophy of the whole series. It’s the guiding philosophy of the future!

The only pathway to paradise is to be truly excellent to each other.

1. “And party on, dudes!”

…you knew this was coming next, because this is the guiding philosophy of the greatest band in all of history, The Wyld Stallyns. And while their first music video didn’t make the cut, their last one certainly did.
