Top Terminator collectibles in honor of surviving Skynet’s Judgment Day

According to Terminator 2, today marks the anniversary of Judgment Day, the day the artificial intelligence system Skynet became self-aware, rose up, and launched an all out nuclear attack. Were it not for the human Resistance, battling to avoid mankind’s extinction at the cold, steel hands of menacing cyborgs, it might have been “hasta la vista, baby” for us all.

So in honor of J-Day’s prevention, crank up the Guns n’ Roses as we take a look back a few of our favorite Terminator releases over the years.

“I’ll be back”

In the 1984 flagship film, Arnold Schwarzenegger gave one of his most iconic performances as the menacing Terminator, a role that earned him – and his Austrian accent – the spotlight of stardom. Featuring expertly detailed costuming and a stunning likeness of Arnold’s steely eyed sneer, The Terminator Premium Format™ Figure is an outstanding representation of the villainous Skynet cyborg.

“Come with me if you want to live.”

Same make, same model – in 1991 the T-800 came back as promised, with a new mission to serve as John Connor’s lone warrior and protector in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Sideshow’s artists brought the T2 hero to back with the T-800 Terminator Battle Damaged Premium Format™ Figure. Wearing what remains of his trademark leather costume, brutal wounds from his final battle with T-1000 reveal his metal skeleton and complex wiring. Wielding an M-79 grenade launcher, T-800 stands bloodied and mangled, but determined to deactivate the advanced Terminator model, at any cost. A big molten steel-submerged thumbs up!

“Not like me. A T-1000, advanced prototype.”

Composed of a mimetic poly-alloy, and capable of shape-shifting, mimicry and rapid reconstruction, the series T-1000 is one of the deadliest machines ever built. While nowhere near as dangerous, the T-1000 Statue certainly captures the awe factor of the robotic assassin as portrayed by Robert Patrick, no problemo.

“It has to end here.”

Part man, and part machine, Skynet’s merciless T-800 cyborgs brought chills of terror that would haunt generations to come. Measuring over two feet tall and nearly as wide at the shoulders, Sideshow’s artists have faithfully reconstructed every detail of the iconic endoskeleton, from the intricate mechanical chassis to the weathered metallic finish. Complete with an articulated head and menacing red light-up eyes, the Terminator Life-Size Bust is one of the finest models Sideshow – and Cyberdyne – have ever had to offer.

“Hasta la vista, baby.”

For the die-hard Terminator fan, it doesn’t get any better than this! Standing over 6 feet tall on a complex base of rubble and human skulls, the T-800 Endoskeleton Life-Size Figure Version 2.0 is the ultimate museum quality representation, for your home, theater, or office space dedicated to building a future free from human error.

“There’s no fate but what we make for ourselves.”

Captured in our first-ever Terminator Premium Art Print, ‘The Future is not Set’ by illustrator Dave Seeley, Sarah Connor’s worst nightmares gave movie-goers a horrific glimpse into a future terrorized by Skynet – where cybernetic war machines have laid waste to the world as we know it in a devastating nuclear holocaust. As mankind refuses to accept this fate, the only hope for our future must be sent back to the past…

“It’s nice to see you.”

In Terminator Genisys, an unexpected turn of events resulted in an altered timeline Kyle Reese sets out on an unexpected new mission to reset the future, and Sarah Connor is a skilled fighter with a Terminator Guardian by her side. To celebrate the launch of this film, Sideshow was proud to release the Hot Toys T-800 Guardian Sixth Scale Figure, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger’s most recent portrayal of his most iconic role.

So today we rejoice, that machines in our lives are at worst an occasional frustration, instead of a horrific super army. As the unknown future rolls toward us, we face it with a sense of hope, and geek-filled enthusiasm. In the words of Sarah Connor, “Every day from this day on is a gift. Use it well.”
