There are two ALIEN statues that stand out amongst the best : 1. The Kotobukiya ArtFX+ 1/10 kit exploding with screen accuracy perfection and the most impressive paint job ever on an Alien at any scale complete with suit wrinkles and 2. the Roswell Big Chap 1/5 statue by Yoshihiko Sano, which is the symmetrically idyllic rendering of the original Giger- sculpted suit which captures all the nuance of every exacting detail sculpted into the individual bones, or pieces molded into the suit but with enhanced the beauty of a Giger painting. This Marmit Medicom statue almost reflects the Roswell, like a larger version, but more of the asymmetric character of the original statue.. It captures the sculpterly details and is surprisingly accurate in terms of its very identifiable proportions of the actor Bolaji Badejo who seems to be standing there in costume inside those massive 23+ inch figure. I say figure because the arms have limited articulation plus the carapace is removable. THIS IS THE BEST ALIEN STATUE MARMIT HAS EVER PRODUCED AND WILL BE ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER DEPICTIONS OF THE BIG CHAP ONCE IT SELLS OUT. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE. I HAVE HAD THE ROSWELL AND ALL THE SIDESHOW STATUES, AND I LOVE THEM ALL but this is a real tribute to Giger’s Alien in both style and presentation in glorious quarter scale polystone ! This will appreciate immediately after it sells out because people will learn too late that it was undersold as an overpriced “vinyl” figure.
I have just got my statue, and I can tell you WOW. I am glad I listened to the small amount of reviews I had see/found on Youtube, because this thing is so worth the every penny, or cent! Its big, its heavy its pollystone, it looks beautiful! Totally one of my fav Aliens pieces, and I highly recommend it. I really don't know why its advertised as a Vinyl statue, its not at all! Go buy it, you will not be disappointed! Ill upload some quality pictures soon! And Thanks Sideshow!
This statue deserved 3 wows! First off, a special thanks to Jase Marshall at Marshall Made Collectibles. I purchased this statue based on his review. I passed on this statue numerous times because it stated the material was vinyl. The only part that’s vinyl is the dome that slips over the top of the head. The rest is all polystone because it’s incredible solid and heavy. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS PIECE fellow collectors. Everything about the statue is impressive. The size, material, finish and attention to detail. It’s a must have as an Alien fan and it’s at a very affordable price. It’s # 1 in my collection now.
