Description

Grip tightly to your swords, angels. For before I send you on the longtryp, I want our battle be glorious.”

-  Kier, Valkyrie of the Dead

Sideshow is proud to present the Kier: Vision of Vengeance Fine Art Print by renowned artist Dave Seeley. Derived from a traditional painting, this captivating portrait features Kier, a character from Sideshow’s original dark horror fantasy property, Court of the Dead.

Seeley's intricate brushwork beguiles the viewer with a glimpse into the nature of Kier, a rejected and orphaned angel adopted by Death. In saving Kier, the Alltaker earned her unwavering loyalty. She serves as his First Sword, and de facto leader of the Spirit Faction. The principles and practices of the Spirit faction help her find a counterbalance against her vengeful nature.

The Kier: Vision of Vengeance Fine Art Print captures Kier in a moment of mystical spiritmandering, imbuing her blade with ethereal power. Her sword sings with the etherea she's taken from angels and demons she’s slain.

As an outcast creature of Heaven, I wanted to bring out Kier's determination and resolve to avenge the traumatic horror of her expulsion," explained Seeley. "A child of conflict and turmoil, she is the 'First Sword' of Death, and she is bent on destruction…. of both her enemies and her self.”

She is twisted beauty, strength, and pent-up anger," Seeley continued. "Framed by the levitating headstones of the Nook-n-Crans, she is entranced with the flow of souls feeding her magical sword, but the image is designed with a dual read in her eyes, to show her focus on that flow, or over her shoulder at us as we come upon her ritual. It was a challenge to get that dual read, but once you see it, you cannot unsee it.”

In the Kier: Vision of Vengeance Fine Art Print, you can see the bruised and gnarled nodes on her shoulder blades where her angel wings were ripped off. Kier is wearing a mask crafted from the bones of her enemies, with notches in its dangling jaw bones to count how many angels and demons she has defeated. Kier sees this mask as her true visage. A countenance she chose, not the one she was given. As her bloodlust grows, so do the ever-shifting scarlet marks on her arms and legs.

Bring some edge to your Court of the Dead collection with the Kier: Vision of Vengeance Fine Art Print.
