Trapped in a hidden valley for millions of years, the allosaurus called Gwangi is one of the most fearsome beasts the wild west has ever seen.
Traditionally sculpted by the artisans of the famed creature shop of Kaibutsuya, this detailed statue of Gwangi is modeled on the puppet created by famed stop-motion animator Ray Harryhausen. Each hand-painted piece is made from soft vinyl and stands 10 inches tall.

The first time I saw the promotional images for this statue I legitimately thought they were stills from The Valley of Gwangi. I eagerly placed my pre order moments later and when I finally received him in the mail and unboxed him, I could not believe the amount of detail that went into it. This statue is ripped straight from the film and is roughly the same size as the puppet that Ray Harryhausen used to animate. The pose, detail, sculpt, and coloring are all fantastic and it looks awesome from any angle. The eyes are very lifelike too and the scales are extremely textured. An incredible statue and I can't recommend it enough!
I am a long time collector of Harryhausen figures. I was not expecting much from Gwangi, in fact I wasn't sure I wanted one. It turns out that Gwangi is among the best figures because it captures a fierceness that is surprising. I adore the other figures in the collection but because Gwangi is pretty much a straight dinosaur...which I love but still it was not classic Harryhausen in my mind. Well, I was wrong. Gwangi is spectacular.
