“So be it…Jedi!”

Sideshow presents the Darth Sidious Mythos Statue, ready to rule your galaxy of Star Wars collectibles.

As a collection, Sideshow’s Mythos series are fine art collectibles that allow the collector to imagine what could have been, but maybe never was. Myths meant to be initiated by the eye and completed by the mind.

The Darth Sidious Mythos Statue measures 21” tall, as the vengeful Sith levitates over the roiling lava of the volcano planet Mustafar. Drawing power from the dark side of the Force, Sidious shoots a blue bolt of lightning from his gnarled fingertips in a fearsome display of rage.

The polystone Darth Sidious Mythos Statue features PVC elements as well as a black fabric cloak over sculpted inner robes, designed to capture windswept motion as the villain hovers over the volcanic earth. The fabric cloak also has internal wiring, allowing you to pose it for added dynamism. Emperor Palpatine’s iconic portrait is detailed with sunken yellow eyes, darkened teeth, and a wrinkled, aged complexion, embodying the evil of the Dark Side. The Darth Sidious Mythos Statue also includes a swap-out left hand wielding an extended red Sith lightsaber blade with which to strike down the Jedi once and for all.

From the moment I removed the box from the shipper I knew I had made the right decision. I love it and it has pushed my collection to the next level. I don't have one bad thing to say about this piece. I just hope that it hasn't pushed me down the rabbit hole of purchasing more statues!

This was my first Mythos purchase, and I primarily only bought it because the Emperor is my favorite character and there are not many high quality statues of this character floating around out there. I was concerned after buying it honestly because of the feet. I will say it straight up: it's NOTHING to be concerned about, the product in-hand is a beautiful work of art. Absolutely the single best purchase I've made in a long time. The paint application is incredible, his eyes are demonically captivating and there is even the illusion on his lightning hand of a light reflection on his arm. The pose is hauntingly mystical, the positioning of the rock in the back gives the impression that he is levitating, definitely giving off that mysterious "evil sorcerer" vibe. Combine that with the Mustafar base, and he looks as if he is the Emperor of Hell itself. The left hand can be swapped out to a hand holding his lightsaber from Revenge of the Sith, if you prefer a more "prequel" look to him. If you prefer the classic Emperor, you can keep the standard left hand. Since we are talking about the hands, let me say that the nails and skin tones are extremely well done... very creepy and unnatural. My prediction is this: the piece is unappreciated now, but will become a grail piece in the future as more people realize the beauty of this statue, so get on the train now before it becomes hard to obtain. As Palpatine would say... "do it!"

Do it

Total honesty - I was worried I wouldn’t like this piece. The mixed media made me really nervous. A couple of things though: you can actually display this just fine without the cloak if you want. The robe is fully sculpted and painted underneath. But I decided to display him with the cloak because it does actually look pretty great. The paint apps are perfect from the base to the top, you won’t be disappointed with any of the quality here. I DO still think that he would have been better with an all polystone build, but he really is an awesome piece that looks great with the other mythos statues. If you’re not sure about him, do it. There aren’t many sidious statues and this one is really great.
