This figure is, in my opinion, the definitive Sixth Scale Darth Vader. Many people are fiercely loyal only to Hot Toys and would never dream of buying a Sixth Scale Figure from any other company, but seriously pick this guy up. Disregarding the diorama base that comes with the Episode V Hot Toys version, this Sideshow figure is actually better. The helmet looks more accurate to the films, the costume is just as good, and the cape is a joy to work with and pose. This does not come with a light-up saber, but that’s not too much of a big deal for me because I don’t generally use those. But it does come with a light-up chest box which is pretty cool. Overall I think you should choose this figure over the Hot Toys version, but that is up to you. Hot Toys purists will probably go for that one, which is fine because that’s still a great figure. But don’t sleep on this guy just because Hot Toys doesn’t make it.
This line get flak from collectors who are loyal to brands, but this guy is definitely a competitor for THE Vader figure to have. The updated sculpt is amazing and the lights are are easy to access and turn on. Only thing I it came with was a light up saber. Other than that, if you are looking for a Vader and the others are sold out, don’t fear. This will be a great addition to the shelf.
My husband got this for me as a Christmas gift and I am in LOVE!! I have several 1/6 scale figures but Vader is MASSIVE. He is definitely a show stopper!
I had the same problem as Ryan W. review October With the black shoulder bell. It fell off, while taking the Darth Vader figure out of the box. Otherwise it is impressive.
