“It takes strength to resist the dark side. Only the weak embrace it.”
Sideshow presents the General Obi-Wan Kenobi™ Mythos Statue, revisiting a fan-favorite Star Wars hero during a crucial period of his journey as a Jedi Master.
As a collection, Sideshow’s Mythos series are fine art collectibles that allow the collector to imagine what could have been, but maybe never was. Myths meant to be initiated by the eye and completed by the mind.
The General Obi-Wan Kenobi™ Mythos Statue measures 17.7” tall, standing on the smoldering wreckage of a Confederacy B2 super battle droid dismembered by his blue lightsaber. The symbol of the Jedi Order is emblazoned on the general’s left shoulder, marking him among the noble peacekeepers in the legendary galactic conflict known as the Clone Wars.
The polystone General Obi-Wan Kenobi™ Mythos Statue features a sculpted Jedi tabard costume with a distressed brown fabric cape that includes wire in the hem for posing and styling. His sculpted Clone Wars armor includes a white chest plate, arm and leg guards, and pauldrons weathered from battle. Obi-Wan Kenobi™ also includes an alternate Phase 1 Clone Trooper helmet portrait, complimenting the Jedi general’s armor for a unique additional display option in your collection. The statue features dynamic paint application that captures realistic shadow and forced lighting throughout the figure, bringing this stunning Star Wars collectible to life on your shelf.

This statue really gets the point of the Mythos theme and design; Obi-Wan is recognizably present in the sculpture, but not beholden to a moment or action that references previous media. Obi-Wan is here, bur not as nostalgia bait, but as something imaginatively, dynamically distinct as a figure, a sculpture, and an independent piece of art.
My favorite small touches are the greying in Obi-Wan's hair and beard, the frayed edges of his cloak, and how his stance evokes preparedness, not gloating over his defeated foe (very Obi-Wan).
The base is cool as hell! The heft and detail of the battle droid are both very well-presented, and having something so eye-catching and stirring really helps the figure leap to the center of my imagination and tell a story.
If the rating system allowed for halving stars, I'd give this 4.5. The rooting of the action and situation of the sculpture within the character is excellent, and the pose, costuming, and unhelmeted portrait offer an uncanny evocation of Obi-Wan's epitomizing a tactical, knightly demeanor.
I don't like the helmeted portrait, as it obscures a lot of the personality and feel of the character, and both the flames at the base and the blade of his lightsaber give off a very toy-accessory vibe (although there's only so much one can do or expect to be done when sculpting flames or the blade of a laser sword in a static medium).
I have the Anakin Mythos statue as well, and I would rate this one over that one, 4.5 to 4 stars (again, if half-stars were admissible). This statue I think captures the character better, down to the little details mentioned above, and the base just really pushes this one over the top, for me. It's excellently awesome artistry!
If you can swing it, the Obi-Wan and Anakin mythos statues are true companion pieces that enhance each other, and I heartily recommend either or both of these sculptures.
I must say Sideshow you have done a great job on this Obi-wan statue! The attention to detail is excellent and has a brilliant shelf presence and fits nicely to my collection! Love the swap out heads only problem is which one do I choose as they are both beautiful.
Superb work and keep them coming! Can’t wait for Vader next.
This was my first "big" piece and it's well worth the price tag. I absolutely love movement in statues and this one doesn't disappoint. His cloak is wonderful and the flames are beautiful. Likeness is spot-on as well. Highly recommended.
This is a beautiful piece. I loved it so much that I bought Ankian to go along with it.
You will not be dissapointed.
What an absolutely gorgeous piece! I could stare at it for hours! Can wait to get this displayed in all its glory. Thank you Sideshow.
