The new pictures of the cast of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child are like a memory pulled from the Pensieve
J.K. Rowling shares her thoughts on the Potter family in the new play.
Harry Potter And The Cursed Child starts previews next week and the play’s official Facebook page posted new images of Harry (Jamie Parker), Ginny (Poppy Miller), and Albus Potter (Sam Clemmett) 19 years after the events in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Harry and Ginny have grown up to become what James and Lily Potter were – proud parents of their wizard son –– and Albus is how you might imagine Harry had he grown up having his talents nurtured instead of living under the stairs.
J.K. Rowling commented on each of the Potters and everything she has to say is positively glowing. Looking at the pictures, you can see why she’s so enthused.
J.K.: “He simply is Harry now. There’s a kind of relief in watching him, he gets it so right.”
J.K.: “There’s much I could say about Sam-as-Albus, but we’d be into spoiler territory so quickly I’ll just say we couldn’t have cast better.”
J.K.: “I think a lot of people would like to have Poppy’s Ginny for a mother. Kind and cool, exactly as I imagined her.”
Between the pictures and Rowling’s glowing comments, we’re finding it harder and harder not to take a field trip to London to see the play ourselves.
