AMC Announces Movie Subscription Service, Invincible Comes to Amazon, and More!
AMC Theatres has added a new ticket subscription service to its offerings called AMC Stubs A-List. For $20 a month, members will be able to see three movies a week, as well as receive all the benefits of AMC’s Stubs reward program. This new subscription service will launch on Tuesday, June 26th.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer and producer Alex Kurtzman has signed a deal with CBS to develop new properties in the Star Trek Universe. Kurtzman is set to take over as showrunner for Star Trek: Discovery, and will work to create new content, including miniseries and animation. This deal with CBS will extend until 2023.
MGM Studios has released an official trailer for its upcoming sports drama Creed II. The film tells the story of Adonis Johnson, a boxer under guidance from Rocky Balboa, as he prepares to fight the son of Ivan Drago. Creed II stars Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, and Sylvester Stallone, and opens in theaters on November 21st.

Netflix has released a trailer for its upcoming original series Kiss Me First, which blends virtual reality with murder mystery. The drama follows a lonely young woman who finds comfort in escaping to an online world, until her real-world friends begin getting murdered one by one. Kiss Me First begins streaming on Netflix on June 29th.

Amazon Studios has given an eight-episode animated series order for Invincible, based on the popular comic series that just concluded a 15 year run. Invincible follows the story of a teenager whose father is the most powerful superhero on the planet. This will be the first series produced under Amazon’s deal with writer Robert Kirkman, creator of Invincible and The Walking Dead.
