Doom Patrol Season 3 Trailer

DC Comics and HBO released a new trailer for the third season of their series Doom Patrol.

The trailer opens with Michelle Gomez’s villainous Madame Rouge arriving in a drill-like time machine. She might be a threat, but for some reason, she doesn’t have her memories. She only knows that something very important is going to happen, and she wants to enlist the help of the Doom Patrol to quite literally kill a group of evil-doers called The Brotherhood of Evil. The Brotherhood of Evil isn’t all they have to worry about though — there’s also The Sisterhood of Dada!

There’s so much to explore and so little that we know about. We don’t know what happened with Candlemaker at the end of season 2. We don’t know what’s going on in Jane’s head. We don’t know if Cyborg’s body is going to be shut down. We don’t know why Cliff’s brain is giving him issues. Nor do we know why a zombified Rita is looking for brains. And we don’t know if Larry will ever be able to connect with the powers inside him.

The psychedelic trailer shares a variety of quotes and clips from across the season, giving us hints at the story to come. However, the official synopsis reads as follows:

Season three opens on the culmination of Dorothy’s (Abi Monterey) confrontation with the Candlemaker that leads to a devastating loss. The Doom Patrol is at a difficult crossroads and each member struggles to face who they are and who they want to be. And things get a whole lot more complicated when Madame Rouge (Michelle Gomez) arrives in a time machine with a very specific mission, if only she could remember it.

Doom Patrol stars April Bowlby as Rita Farr, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor, Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele, Timothy Dalton as Chief, Joivan Wade as Cyborg.

Season 3 of Doom Patrol will premiere on HBO Max on September 23.
