Actress Annette Bening has just joined the cast of the upcoming Captain Marvel movie in a secret role. The only information about Bening’s character is that she is a scientist, and many suspect she may be playing the title hero’s mother. Captain Marvel is currently in production, and opens in theaters on March 6th, 2019.

Actress Francesca Reale has just joined the cast of Stranger Things season 3 in a role central to the show’s new mystery. She will be playing Heather, a popular lifeguard at the Hawkins community pool. Plot details for Stranger Things season 3 are being kept under wraps, but the show will launch new episodes on Netflix some time in 2019.

20th Century Fox has released a teaser trailer for the next installment of the Predator franchise, called The Predator. Directed by Shane Black, the film takes place between Predator 2 and Predators, and is considered a sequel rather than a reboot. The Predator stars Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, and Sterling K. Brown, and hits theaters on September 14th.

Netflix has made the decision to end its original comedy series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt after four seasons of streaming. The series was created by Tina Fey, telling the story of a young woman who adjusts to life in New York City after escaping from a doomsday cult. The first half of season four begins streaming on May 30th, with the second half and a movie to follow as the series finale.

Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of The Witcher has added two new writers to its ranks. Revealed by showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich, former writers from Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Daredevil have joined the staff of the dark fantasy series. The eight-episode first season of The Witcher is currently in development, and is not expected to air until 2020.
