Jim Carrey to Join Sonic the Hedgehog Film, the Season 3 Return of My Hero Academia, and More!

Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for their action film Skyscraper, starring Dwayne Johnson. Johnson plays a war veteran who now assesses security for skyscrapers, and finds himself framed for the sudden immolation of the world’s tallest, safest building while his family is trapped inside. Skyscraper will open in theaters on July 13th.

According to Deadline, actor Jim Carrey is in negotiations to star as the villain in Paramount’s upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film. Carrey will play Dr. Ivo Robotnik, a mad scientist and the longtime nemesis of the game franchise’s protagonist. James Marsden and Tika Sumpter have also been cast for the film, but their roles are not yet known.

Actor Kumail Nanjiani has just joined the cast of Sony’s upcoming Men in Black reboot film. Nanjiani will reportedly be playing a wise-cracking alien character alongside Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. The new Men in Black is currently scheduled to open in theaters on June 14th, 2019.

The official Twitter account for the popular anime My Hero Academia has just announced the premiere date for Season 3. The series centers around a group of students training to become heroes in a world where 80% of the population is born with special abilities. My Hero Academia Season 3 premieres on July 14th.
