Marvel’s Hawkeye Trailer Explained

Marvel released the first official trailer for their upcoming series Hawkeye, set to premiere on Disney+ this holiday season.

The trailer opens with Clint’s daughter Lila saying, “This is the first Christmas we’ve had together in years.” The family sits around a table holding hands. But their nice moment can only last so long before the harsh reality of the world sets in. Clint tells his family that he loves them, but he has some business to take care of.

It seems that his time acting as the vigilante Ronin has caught up with him. There are people out to get him, and he’s certainly out to get the people that would put his family in harm’s way. So while the media spreads fear, Hawkeye decides to take matters into his own hands. And he’s going to have to handle everything quick, because he promised his kids that he’d be home in time for Christmas.

He returns to his past to face his enemies, and soon meets one of his biggest fans, the self-proclaimed “world’s greatest archer,” a girl named Kate Bishop. Hawkeye and Kate Bishop work together to handle the dangerous fiasco ahead. The trailer flashes through some of what’s to come, from Pizza Dog to Rogers: The Musical, a play about Captain America and The Avengers, plus so much more!

And while we didn’t see her in the trailer, we know for a fact that Black Widow star Florence Pugh will be joining the series as Yelena Belova. We saw her in the post-credits scene of the film mourning her sister, when Madame Hydra approaches her. She gives her another mission: defeat Clint Barton.

We’ll see Pugh in the Hawkeye series, alongside Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as Gwen Stacy) as Kate Bishop, Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, Brian d’Arcy James, Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne, Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, Fra Fee as Kazi, and more.

Marvel’s Hawkeye will premiere on Disney+ on November 24.
