Netflix Renews GLOW For Season 3, Y: The Last Man Series Begins Production, and More!

Netflix has officially renewed its 80’s wrestling comedy GLOW for a third season. The series is based on the real-life Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, and stars Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Marc Maron, and more. GLOW was recently nominated for six Emmys, and Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Netflix.

Prime Video has released an official trailer for its upcoming film King Lear, a modern day retelling of the classic Shakespeare tale. Anthony Hopkins stars as the 80-year old king, alongside an all-star cast including Emma Thompson, Jim Broadbent, Emily Watson, and Christopher Eccleston. King Lear begins streaming on Amazon Prime video on September 28th.

Showrunner Michael Green has teased the start of production on the Y: The Last Man television series. The series, simply called ‘Y’, is based on the hit Vertigo comic series about a natural disaster that wipes out all male life on Earth, except for one man and his monkey.  The pilot will be reviewed by FX before being optioned for a full series.

CBS has just added two guest-stars for the first season of the Magnum P.I. reboot. Both Ken Jeong and Carl Weathers will make appearances in the series seeking help from the detective, played by Jay Hernandez. Executive producer Peter Lenkov has also suggested that Magnum P.I. will crossover with Hawaii Five-0 in the future. Magnum P.I. premieres on CBS on September 24th.
