Marvel released the first official teaser trailer for their upcoming filming, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The trailer was released alongside with a new poster, and a caption that wished Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu a very happy birthday!
Whoever said that you could only RECEIVE presents on your birthday? Today, I’m giving you your VERY FIRST LOOK at the teaser poster for @ShangChi and the Legend of the Ten Rings!!
Coming to theatres September 3rd (trailer drops in a few weeks).

The trailer opens with a crash of lightning as Shang-Chi enters a training room. With his fist fitting perfectly into a dented structure of a pillar, and a quick look at his training regimen, we realize that the unassuming valet has a much more action packed past.
A voice-over offers a hint at his story saying, “I gave you ten years to live your life, and where did that get you? You walked in my shadow. I trained you so the most dangerous people in the world couldn’t kill you. Son, it’s time for you to take your place by my side.”
We finally hear Shang-Chi when he responds to his father. “That’s not going to happen.”
Shang-Chi’s father is the villain known as the Mandarin, the leader of a criminal organization called The Ten Rings. We get to see those Ten Rings, glowing as heavy bracelets on his arms. We get to see the destructive power of the bracelets, and even (potentially) how they can control the elements, making water slow down in mid-air.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of The Ten Rings. The Ten Rings was the organization that originally kidnapped Iron Man. You can even see their logo in the background of the hostage footage from the first Iron Man. This also isn’t the first time we’ve heard of The Mandarin in the MCU. An actor named Trevor pretends to be the Mandarin, after being hired by yet another criminal in Tony Stark’s rogue’s gallery. We also get glimpses at some of the other villains in the film, like Razor Fist, one of the masked fighters who trained Shang-Chi growing up, and more!
