Brian K. Vaughan’s Ex Machina Being Adapted For Film

Writers Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel have been set to pen an adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Tony Harris’s sci-fi comic Ex Machina. Not to be confused with the 2015 film Ex Machina, the comic will hit the big screen as Legendary Pictures’ The Great Machine, about a superhero who becomes the mayor of New York City. The Great Machine currently does not have a release date, and there is no casting news at this time.

WOTC Announces Critical Role Campaign Book

The official Wizards Dungeons and Dragons team has revealed the Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount, an official campaign setting is based in the world of the popular D&D web series Critical Role. Created in collaboration with Dungeon Master Matt Mercer, the guide will include new classes and schools of magic for players to explore. The Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount is currently available for pre-order and will be available on March 17th.

Sony Premieres First Morbius Teaser Trailer

Sony Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for Morbius, their newest Spider-Man spinoff film. The movie stars actor Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius, a man with a rare blood disease who becomes a vampiric monster after experimenting in an effort to cure himself. Morbius opens in theaters on July 31st, 2020.

92nd Academy Awards Nominations Announced

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 92nd Academy Awards. The film Joker has stolen the spotlight with 11 nominations, the most of any films this year, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director.

Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame received one nomination for Best Visual Effects, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has been acknowledged for Visual Effects and Original Score. The 92nd Academy Awards ceremony will take place on February 9th, 2020.
