Stay InsideShow Pop Culture Picks – Day 2
Due to social distancing, many of us have found ourselves with more time inside than usual. Many of our schedules have changed, giving us the opportunity to try new things. As fans of pop culture ourselves, Sideshow’s Staff is happy to share a few suggestions to help you fill your newfound time with high quality content.
To help encourage everyone to Stay Insideshow, every day this week we will be recommending one film/series, one comic/book, one board game, and one video game that you can enjoy while you practice safe social distancing. These picks are the best of the best, curated and personally suggested by our very geeky staff.

Sneaky Pete (Amazon Prime Video)
Enjoy heists, comedy & drama? Sneaky Pete is one of the most fun watches out there. Marius, an expert con-man, steals someone’s identity and pretends to be a long lost cousin of a family, all while taking every opportunity to steal for himself. Can he resist becoming too attached to the family, steal some stuff, all while not blowing his cover? Recommended for ages 14 and up.

This is How You Lose the Time War– I have never read a book quite like this before. Written in epistolary format (told as letters/journal entries), this mind-bending sci-fi story tells the history of Red and Blue, two agents warring across the time stream to secure the best future for their faction. A note with the words, “Burn before reading,” launches an epic rivalry that alters past, present, and history as they know it. I devoured this in a day, it was so electrifying and imaginative. I wish I could travel back in time and read it for the first time all over!

Munchkin (Steve Jackson Games)
Explore the dungeon, fight the monsters, backstab your friends, steal their stuff.
A 3-6 Player deck based card game inspired by Dungeons & Dragons – and bad role-players (AKA Munchkins) in particular.
This game is inexpensive, quick to learn, fast to set up (2-3 mins max) and can take about an hour to play depending on the number of players.
The deck is constantly evolving, and you “build” characters and their attributes on the fly, but the real fun kicks in once you start double-dealing, backstabbing, and tricking your fellow adventurers.
It’s not uncommon to scupper a colleagues meticulously laid plans in one turn, and then bribe them for all their loot in order to “rescue” them in the next. But expect retaliation! Never forgive! Never forget!

Animal Crossing (Available Nintendo Switch)
Even if you haven’t already ventured into the Animal Crossing universe, you will love Animal Crossing: New Horizons! New Horizons is a beautiful, community simulation game where you can make friends with the locals (friendly animal characters) while designing your own island getaway! Enjoy a relaxing time helping your neighbors, catching fish, and crafting furniture on your own or with your friends online! We can’t wait to see what you create!
