Stranger Things Then & Now- Let Your Geek Sideshow Podcast

From across time and space, and throughout the multiverse, listen as multiple generations of geeks come together to discuss the iconic characters, events, and franchises that make up the very fabric of pop culture as we know it.

Let Your Geek Sideshow presents… Then & Now– a pop culture podcast!

(This podcast contains no Season 3 spoilers beyond previously released trailers.)

This week, we’re hopping on our bikes and taking a ride through scenic Hawkins, Indiana as we discuss the evolution of the hit series Stranger Things. What began with the Vanishing of Will Byers turned our world Upside-Down through television, comics, published novels, and even tabletop and arcade gaming.

While the franchise has only been around since 2016, it has taken pop culture by storm by resurrecting nostalgic pop culture favorites- everything from Dungeons & Dragons and Eggo Waffles- to introducing new icons- like Eleven and the Demogorgon- to the popular imagination.

It is clear that the Duffer Brothers have forever opened a rift from the Upside Down to our world with their hit show. Whether it thrives on 80s nostalgia, our love of horror, or a steady diet of Eggo Waffles, Stranger Things has become a beast in the modern pop culture landscape in a relatively short time.

All that remains to be seen is how the series continues to evolve- with a variety of comics, books, and games coming out, the world of Hawkins, Indiana will continue to grow well beyond the Mirkwood forest where the Demogorgon first appeared. And who knows- maybe the strangest things are yet to come.

Don’t be a mouthbreather- listen along as we unlock our curiosity doors and discuss Stranger Things, Then & Now.
