After its first trailer release in October of 2017, Fox just released a new trailer for their long-awaited superhero horror movie, The New Mutants. The New Mutants follows a group of five young mutants, who are held in a secret facility against their will as their unique abilities begin to manifest. We’ll see Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Sunspot, Magik, Mirage, and yes, even Demon Bear, when The New Mutants premieres on April 3rd.


Joker Breaks Records

 

Todd Phillips’ The Joker broke records this weekend by being the first comic book movie to win two Golden Globes. Joaquin Phoenix won for Best Performance by an actor in a motion picture, Drama, and composer Hildur Gudnadóttir received the Globe for Best Original Score. There is no further news about The Joker at this time.


Birds of Prey News

In a recent interview with Variety, actress Margot Robbie confirmed that Joker does not appear in Birds of Prey at all. She then compared Birds of Prey to Todd Phillips’ Joker film, saying, “I feel like the Joker film was much more grounded. Ours is different. It’s heightened.” Birds of Prey will hit theaters on February 7th.


New Black Widow Photo

USA Today shared a new photo from Marvel’s Black Widow. The photo shows Black Widow and her sister Yelena on the run, seemingly on a motorcycle. Black Widow will premiere on May 1st.


Commissioner Gordon Heads to Gotham

Jeffrey Wright, who will play Commissioner Gordon in Matt Reeves’ Batman movie, confirmed that he is starting filming. He posted a tweet saying, “Woke up jet lagged at 10pm thinking I was late. 4:45am now. Off to Gotham.” We’ll see Commissioner Gordon when Batman flies into theaters on June 25th, 2021.
