The 10 Best Quotes from Netflix’s Arcane Season 2

By Jasmine Edwards on Dec 5, 2024

It’s no secret that I’m head-over-heels enamored with Arcane. Netflix’s original animated series, based on the League of Legends video game, just dropped its second and final season. Don’t worry, spin-off shows are on the way! But for now, all we can do to get more content is rewatch and relive our favorite moments. And if you’re mourning the end as much as I am, you’re definitely doing some heavy binge rewatching. It’s easy enough to do, anyway, with such masterful production value and stunning visuals.

I also want to highlight the script again. I’ve already written extensively about the best quotes from Arcane season 1 — in fact, I struggled to pick just one memorable line from each episode. And I struggled this time, too! Now, let’s look at the 10 best quotes from Arcane season 2 below. Once more, I’m focusing on quotes that didn’t quite make the cut as episode titles or song lyrics — but are still just as, if not sometimes more, impactful.

Spoilers abound, so proceed with caution!

“Address me with respect, or keep your mouth shut.” – Caitlyn Kiramman

Heavy Is the Crown

In season 2, Caitlyn Kiramman evolves from a somewhat timid young woman into a fierce leader. Sadly, the circumstances that lead her here — Piltover’s destruction and her mother’s death — are less than ideal. However, Caitlyn emerges from these tragedies with a level head and a determination to lead her House with pride. Storming into a council meeting, Cait demands due deference for her fortitude. I do love a woman who knows exactly what she’s worth.

“We don’t hand over our people.” – Sevika

Watch It All Burn

I’m really pleased by how much time we spend with Sevika this season. Overall, the entire scene foreshadows Sevika’s advancement to councilwoman and presumably Zaun representative. While recommending the Chemlords halt their petty territory disputes, Sevika also reminds us of the strength of the Undercity united. Her leadership qualities are fully on display. Additionally her loyalty, fierce determination, and commitment to Zaun all come out in a few simple yet powerful words.

“Wild runes are…” – Jayce

“Sort of like its fingerprints.” – Ekko

Finally Got the Name Right

What a truly poetic way to describe the arcane and runes. Calling them “fingerprints” perfectly encapsulates the innate, indelible, and artistic nature of the arcane. Honestly, I love this entire Ekko and Jayce interaction. It’s the meeting of two brilliant minds with wildly different life experiences. Plus, it’s a great way to illustrate the science behind the magic for any audience members who may still need an explanation. Because if the scientific jargon is going over your head, the physical demonstration helps a lot!

“Chin up, little one. I’ll tell you a secret. We won’t be staying long.” – Singed

Paint the Town Blue

It’s ominous, it’s chilling, and it’s pretty accurate. More than that, however, this quote gives us major insight into Singed’s character. Although he’s morally bankrupt and very dangerous, he’s gentle toward Isha. Obviously, this is because Singed’s entire motivation revolves around curing/reviving his deceased daughter. But these words are the perfect way to introduce the scary monster while also highlighting Singed’s personality. In the end, he just wants to comfort a child — even if that child is ultimately endangered by Singed’s biological experiment, Warwick.

“You’re not allowed to fail anymore.” – Felicia

Blisters and Bedrock

I’m definitely skirting the edges of my “no title drops” rule here. But to be fair, Felicia’s monologue absolutely belongs on this list. This is especially true because this is the only time we hear Jinx and Violet’s mother speak, and the only time we see her besides her death. The part of the speech which stands out most, besides the toast to blisters and bedrock, is Felicia telling her friends they can’t fail now that she’s pregnant. It’s an earnest call to action for Zaun’s future. Plus, it helps us understand how deeply betrayed Silco felt when Vander gave up on their shared dream. And why Vander feels so responsible for Jinx and Vi.

“…there were only three things I needed to do: Be honest … Be patient.” – Vi

“And the third?” – Ambessa Medarda

“Just shut the f*ck up.” – Vi

The Message Hidden Within the Pattern

Here, Vi explains the advice Vander gave in order to gain someone’s trust. According to her and her dad, there are only three things a person needs. Those are honesty, patience, and silence. Of course, Vi adds her signature brash charisma to this explanation. In between the items, she insults Ambessa and self deprecates a little bit. Plus, she can’t help but boast a little about her subterfuge, especially as it becomes more clear that she and Cait will succeed. This exchange is so quintessentially Vi. I can’t help but smile when I think about it.

“Greatest thing we can do in life is find the power to forgive.” – Alternate Universe Silco

Pretend Like It’s the First Time

Am I the only one who wants an entire season set in this alternate reality? In a world where Zaun succeeds and the Undercity prospers, everyone is happy and thriving. Ekko, Claggor, Mylo, and Jinx are free to invent anything they can dream. Aspirations are achieved, the air is clear, and the fashion is phenomenal. Additionally, Silco and Vander remain close, seemingly running The Last Drop together as they raise Powder — who never even became Jinx. That’s what the grace and power of forgiveness can get you, folks.

“I can see through your tricks. That makes me a threat.” – Mel Medarda

Killing Is a Cycle

Really, this entire intro scene is bursting with incredible quotes. The tension is exquisite, each line imbued with power and purpose like a stage play. Yet the line that sticks out to me is Mel’s recognition of her own power. Although she is the prisoner in this situation, she understands that she has the upper hand. Mel has also just awakened her magic, giving her a confidence boost on top of an already proud and self-assured personality.

“In all timelines, in all possibilities, only you … can show me this.” – Viktor

The Dirt Under Your Nails

Of course, I’m not the only person obsessed with the Jayce and Viktor dynamic. They went from partners to rivals to a cosmic force. And when Viktor is too far gone, caught up in his dark messiah role, Jayce brings him back. Viktor’s quote above is the moment he realizes how important Jayce is to him. In recognizing his own faults and mistakes, Viktor also accepts his capacity to change … as long as Jayce is there to guide him. In every universe, they’ll find each other, ensuring their own goodness and happiness.

“Always with you, sis.” – Jinx

The Dirt Under Your Nails

This TV death is going to hurt for a long, long time … if she’s actually dead. And you never really know, especially with the whole Vander/Warwick reveal. The family is tenacious, to say the least. Anyway, because Jinx has a lot of fun quotes in the finale, it’s difficult to decide what to feature. Overall, I think it’s best to pick Jinx’s last words. They bring everything full circle. While Jinx’s first monkey bomb destroyed her relationship with Vi, this earth-shattering sacrifice cements their commitment to each other. In saving Vi, and in embracing Warwick, Jinx shows us that love really does conquer all.

I’m not bawling my eyes about this. You are. But while you’re here, let me at least pass the tissue box.
