The Best Quotes from the Star Wars: Ahsoka Premiere
After what felt like forever in the eyes of eager fans, the highly anticipated Disney+ live-action show Star Wars: Ahsoka™ premiered with two incredible episodes! Below, let’s break down 6 of the best quotes from Ahsoka Parts One and Two.
“Just like old times.” – Ahsoka Tano
“Unfortunately.” – Hera Syndulla
We love seeing the Ghost™ gang back together! However, like General Hera Syndulla™ says, we wish it were under better circumstances. Somehow we just can’t manage to reunite the whole crew unless there’s trouble brewing. Ahsoka Tano’s™ quick quip and Hera’s equally funny reply elucidate this issue. We hope, actually, that this point is raised again. Why can’t our characters exist together in peace? With years between Rebels™ and Ahsoka, we’re all itching to find out where everyone is and how they were all separated for so long.
“I’m counting on you to see this through.” – Ezra Bridger
Technically this quote came from Rebels first. Nonetheless, we’re including it because we still love it. Ezra Bridger’s™ hologram message to his “sister” Sabine Wren™ is iconic and inspiring. It sets up the entire plot of this Rebels sequel/spin-off, after all. The search for Ezra has been on Rebels‘ fan’s wishlists since the animated series ended in 2018. Now we’re finally getting it, plus a hint to why Ezra chose Sabine specifically to receive this message. He sensed the Force — as well as her potential to wield it through more than the Darksaber™.
“Sometimes even the right reasons have the wrong consequences.” – Ahsoka Tano
This list isn’t ranked. However, we can definitely say this is the best quote from the two-part premiere. As we all know, Ahsoka Tano has always struggled with her decision to leave the Jedi Order™ for years. This isn’t because she regrets leaving the hypocritical Council, but because she misses her Master, Anakin Skywalker™. Ahsoka also partially blames herself for his descent to the dark side. Thus, even though she believes she was right to go, she recognizes that things didn’t turn out the way she wanted.
“You’re both difficult. I always thought that made it work.” – Hera Syndulla
Hera has always been the “mom” of the found family that is the Ghost crew. Obviously, then, she can read her family the best. She can also understand their relationships even when they can’t. Thus, as the voice of reason, she can easily assist her Spectres™ when there’s conflict or tension. That hasn’t stopped in Ahsoka. Years later, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren are still going to Mom for advice. It’s something that warms our hearts, and will likely continue throughout Ahsoka.
(Now we just need to see Hera interact with and care for her son with Kanan Jarrus™, Jacen Syndulla™… )
“I’m ready.” – Sabine Wren
During Part One and Part Two, Sabine Wren seriously doubts her own abilities as well as Ahsoka Tano’s commitment to training her. We see Sabine retreat into insecurity despite her outward confidence. Part Two, however, ends with Sabine fully recognizing her own purpose. She cuts her own hair, a ceremony symbolic of moving forward. Then she dons her famous purple armor before taking the initiative to call upon Ahsoka. Now this is the Sabine Wren we all recognize and adore.
“Take us out. Padawan.” – Ahsoka Tano
This is a veritable mic drop of a closing line. As Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren chart their course to retrieve the map, Ahsoka smiles. And then she encourages Sabine to take the lead. It’s a pivotal moment for both women, and an exciting moment for the audience. After all, we’ve just fully confirmed that Sabine Wren is re-starting her path to becoming a Jedi Knight™. Plus, she’ll be the first Mandalorian™ Jedi in the on-screen history of Star Wars. How awesome is that?
