Deadpool Day: Event Wrap-Up

On Thursday, April 1st, 2021 (AKA April Pool’s Day), Sideshow celebrated Deadpool Day, a day-long event centered around the beloved Marvel character. Deadpool Day brought fans Sideshow Rewards, live content, giveaways, game shows, and more.

Missed out on any of the action? Never fear—the recap blog is here! Read on for a full rundown of this celebration and a hint at what events are yet to come.

Prize-Pool

In the Let Your Geek Sideshow Facebook Group, we gave away the Dusty Deadpool Sixth Scale Figure by Hot Toys. Congratulations to Daniel M. for winning this figure!

We gave away two unframed print proofs: the Deadpool Corps Fine Art Print by Dave Wilkins and the Deadpool and Cable Fine Art Print by Alex Garner. Long sold-out, these coveted illustrations were won by Victor C. and Joey G., respectively.

During the Instant Giveaway, our hosts showed you the prize up for grabs and a moderator dropped a link for live audience members to enter for a chance to win the prize. In this case, it was two prizes!

Katie W. won the Marvel Comics: Cooking With Deadpool Book by Insight Editions and Derek H. won the Dusty Deadpool Sixth Scale Figure by Hot Toys.

Congratulations to all!

Deadpool Con Booth Tour

Deadpool Con, hosted by Guy Klender brought the confetti, the pizazz, and the awesome-sauce-est collectibles. The booth display included:

—and an actual chimichanga that accompanied some sweet Sideshow rewards.

Yum! Kudos to the Video Team for this Merc with a Mouth-themed masterpiece. You can catch the full replay right here:

Cobbled Cosplay

If you love costumes, makeup, and watching people stress out over time constraints and fashion faux-pas, you will want to catch up on this eXtreme episode of Cobbled Cosplay. Andrew and Rob went toe-to-toe as they played by proxy for contestants and dressed as Venompool, with a taco-themed twist.

In this Contest of Champions, Rob and his proxy Victor S. emerged victorious. See the wild, wacky, and #winning costumes below.

Watch past episodes of Cobbled Cosplay here, and look forward to more of these silly showdowns in the near future.

Trivial Cahoots

It wouldn’t have been Deadpool Day without a fight. Trivial Cahoots launched as our last livestream of the day and our first foray into quiz shows. Audience members participated LIVE, answering between 15-20 questions about Wade Wilson and his Marvel Comics history. How do you think you would have done?

Trivial Cahoots was a roaring success because you, the fans, brought your A-game. We couldn’t be happier to have such funny, interesting, geeky friends.

Winners got Sideshow rewards and bragging rights. Plus a special place in our hearts as the first ever Trivial Cahoots Champions.

Group Highlights

We asked our Facebook Group members to participate in Deadpool Day, and you all rose to the challenge! Here are some awesome posts from the best geeks around.

Pierre P. dazzled us with his photoshop skills to celebrate the kickoff livestream.

Mathew W. started a Deadpool cosplay thread, and you all look amazing.

This Dusty Deadpool Sixth Scale Figure contest asked members to create a “Help Wanted” ad for Deadpool’s X-Force. The drawings that were submitted were eXtraordinary.
