You know what’s scary? Halloween is only days away! And it’s on a Friday! That means the celebrations will be bigger than ever this year. Maybe you’re spending the night in, handing out candy, hanging with your pets, and watching scary movies. Or you’re out there trick or treating. But with that weekend approaching, you could also be heading to a Halloween party.

Uh-oh … did your friend just send that invite? Whether you’re needing advanced notice or are somebody who thrives on impulsive plans, you still require an outfit — preferably one that tells all the guests what you’re a fan of. Well, we have just the Halloween costumes for all you geeks. No scrambling required (unless you’re going as an egg).

Wednesday Addams

You can put this costume together in a snap. Wednesday’s creepy and kooky attire requires minimal effort. Simply unearth your darkest obsidian dress, uniform, or shirt/skirt combo (with stripes). Put your hair in pigtails — or find a fitting wig — et voila! Bonus points if you can get a group costume together for the whole family.

But the easiest way to pull off this mutant’s look is to go as Mystique transforming … into you! But on your usual clothes, then paint part of your face or arm blue (or use blue sleeves/gloves). Stick in some red hair extensions or spray on temporary hair dye, and you’re ready to go … to the party, X-Men!

Listen —  you might be a little cold, but we all make sacrifices for Halloween. Lara Croft’s costume is so simple that you could possibly already own everything you need. She wears a gray or blue tank top, brown or green cargo shorts/pants, and keeps her long brown hair in a ponytail. Cosplay completionists will want the shoulder or belt holster, too. Grab some plastic weaponry if you’ve got it. Now go raid those tombs!

Jedi Knight or Sith Lord

Who says Star Wars™ costumes have to be complicated? You can become a Jedi or Sith with a long bath robe and a Lightsaber. Or, grab some flowing linen clothing and a long-line coat in either earth tones or black and red. With a little sci-fi hairstyling or makeup, plus lots of layering, that galaxy far, far away will be closer than ever before.

Catwoman

Bodysuits can be a pain, we know. But you do not have to slink and slide your way into one. A Catwoman costume can be achieved with tight black clothing of any variety — maybe with a leather jacket for emphasis. Then, simply add a cat ear headband or beanie, fur trimmed hood, and black boots. Boom! Casual transformation into a DC character complete.

Monkey D. Luffy

Here’s a fun one! All you need is Luffy’s straw hat to make this costume work. No pirate outfit? No problem. Just grab a few clothing items in Luffy’s general color palette (red and khaki). The Guys from Saw

Do you own casual or business casual attire? Can you finger paint? Great — you can be Adam or Lawrence from Saw. But be warned. Your blue button-down, white T-shirt, and jeans are about to get filthy. Once you’ve got these clothing items on, distress them (and your body) with brown, red, white, and gray paint. As soft and fuzzy as the creatures they’re inspired by, animal onesies are an easy way to stay warm wherever you go. Plus, everybody always flocks to the animal companions at parties. Show up as Stitch, Appa, or an Ewok and you’re bound to be the center of attention.
