Harrison Ford autographs Han Solo action figure for his new bestie John Boyega

Does Harrison Ford have a new wing man? As the ever rebellious and charming Han Solo, the seasoned Star Wars vet has already saved the galaxy once and got the girl (we think). So it should come as no surprise that John Boyega, who costars with Ford as Finn in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has made several comments that he’s been looking to become Ford’s bestie.

Back in April during Star Wars Celebration, when John Boyega joined the cast and crew on stage for a Q&A one of the first stories he shared from on set was about asking Harrison Ford to sign a Star Wars Collectible Han Solo figure.

“I went over to Harrison and said, ‘Can you sign my doll?’ and he was like, ‘This is weird, but I’ll sign it for you,’” Boyega told the audience.

Now we actually get to see that moment of giddy geekdom in a new behind-the-scenes featurette, shown during Comic Con Experience in Brazil.

This isn’t the first time we’ve witnessed Boyega fawning over Harrison Ford, either.

 

Referencing the running gag with his signature gruff humor, Harrison Ford later told Hollywood Reporter how he feels about his new admirer. “He’s an interesting character. He will tell you that I am his best friend — that is how full of sh*t he is — but he is fun to be around and brings a real energy to the part.”

Set up as a mentor for the new heroes in the trailers in the trailer, we can’t wait to see Han Solo with his new bestie on the big screen!
