POLL: Which Movies Are You Looking Forward to in 2024?

By Sideshow on Jan 12, 2024

Whether it’s exclusively in cinemas, streaming, or a little bit of both, there are new movies just around the corner. Because it’s the New Year — and that means we’re gearing up for a great year of film! Which new ones are you most excited to see in 2024? Are you looking forward to some spinoffs? Maybe that long-awaited sequel, or finally, finally the prequel that explains the role of your favorite side character?

Cast your vote in our poll below (we have a 2024 TV poll too!) and tell us what you’re most excited about. Then, read all about the exciting new movies coming soon to a theater and/or streaming device near you.

Madame Web (February 14)

Marvel’s newest origin story comes in the form of Madame Web. Following clairvoyant NYC paramedic Cassandra Webb, the non-MCU continuity project is Sony’s latest foray into the Spider-Verse (without the larger connection to Phase Five or otherwise).

Dune: Part Two (March 1)

Dune, based on a book of the same name, is a sci-fi epic laden with mystery and wonder. Now Dune: Part Two promises more adventure, uprisings, and heroism with similarly striking visuals to its predecessor.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (March 29)

Who you gonna call? Everyone’s favorite goofy/spooky franchise returns with Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Watch generations of ‘Busters battle their way through a cold city with their signature silly, yet surprisingly successful, antics.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (March 29)

Can’t get enough of kaiju? The two biggest and baddest battle for dominance once again in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Come for the monster fights and stay, well, for even more monster fights.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (May 24)

Before Max wandered the wastelands in Mad Max, there was Furiosa. This action-adventure prequel story follows the fighter-turned-traitor in her younger days with the War Boys. Plus, we’ve got Chris Hemsworth in a red cape as a nod to his role as Thor.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (May 24)

The legacy of human and ape kind alike is tested in this continuation of a breathtaking live-action and CGI saga. Witness the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, in which Caesar’s world has fallen to chaos or risen to new heights — depending on who you side with.

Ballerina (June 7)

The world of John Wick is ever-expanding. First we got the spinoff series The Continental. Now we get a closer look at John’s home territory in the cutthroat Ballerina, where dancers are trained as assassins and vice versa.

Deadpool 3 (July 26)

Mr. Pool, Dead is back for stunts, gore, mischief, and wisecracks. And this time, Deadpool has brought his buddy Wolverine along for what is sure to be a hilarious, heartfelt, and hectic ride through the X-Men’s continuing foray into the larger MCU (their premiere being in Captain Marvel with Binary and Beast).

Alien: Romulus (August 16)

Little is known about Alien: Romulus‘ plot besides what the poster and teasers suggest, which is that younger protagonists will face the Xenomorph threat. Said to take place between Alien and Aliens, it’s a highly anticipated addition to the sc-fi horror series.

Kraven the Hunter (August 30)

Kraven the Hunter is also part of the SSU — Sony Spider-Man Universe. Promising lots of stunts, comic lore, and violence, it’s sure to make its mark as another wild exploration of a Spidey villain, but with very different vibes than Morbius.

Joker: Folie Ă  Deux (October 4)

Folie Ă  deux, translated from French, means a madness shared by two. And that’s certainly what we’re going to watch unfold in DC’s Joker sequel, which introduces Harley Quinn into Arthur Fleck’s horrifying world of sinister smiles.

Venom 3 (November 8)

Before you get too excited, the above image is from Venom: Let There Be Carnage. But we couldn’t leave out the hilarious picture of Eddie Brock and Venom’s strange domestic life — something we can’t wait to see again in the yet-to-be-titled third Venom movie.

Which new movie are you most looking forward to in 2024? Of course, our list isn’t exhaustive. Maybe we missed your #1 pick. Vote in the poll above, then tell us what we missed and/or share your excitement with other fans at side.show/geekgroup or in the Sideshow Social Network.
