POLL: Which TV Shows Are You Looking Forward to in 2024?
Whether it’s airing live, streaming, or a little bit of both, there’s new TV just around the corner. Because it’s the New Year β and that means we’re gearing up for a great year of television! Which new and returning series are you most excited to see in 2024? Are you looking forward to some spinoffs? Maybe that long-awaited second season, or finally, finally the premiere of the most hotly anticipated release since M*A*S*H‘s “Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen?”

Echo (January 9)
Marvel’s Echo highlights Maya Lopez in a main role after introducing her as an antihero in Hawkeye. The first season consists of 5 episodes β released simultaneously β and has a darker tone more akin to Netflix’s Daredevil, The Punisher, and Jessica Jones. Echo is now available to stream on Disney+.
Halo season 2 (February 8)
The sci-fi /action series Halo is based on a video game. Halo revolves around a 26th-century war and the characters fighting on both sides, but primarily focuses on Master Chief. After impressing audiences with its first season, Halo returns February 8, 2024 on Paramount+. The amount of episodes in season 2 is currently unknown.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (February 22)
The live-action Avatar: The Last AirbenderΒ is based on the original animated series of the same name. This breathtaking fantasy story follows Aang, the last Airbender, and two Water Tribe siblings named Katara and Sokka as they attempt to overthrow the tyrannical Fire Lord. Avatar: The Last Airbender premieres on February 22, 2024 on Netflix with an eight-episode order.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (February 25)
The Walking Dead may have already ended, but there are still lots of stories to tell. A sequel/spinoff from the original series, The Ones Who Live centers on the presumed-dead protagonist Rick Grimes. Michonne and Jadis Stokes/Anne are also returning. The Ones Who Live airs February 25, 2024 on AMC and AMC+. There is no news about the number of episodes at this time.
Dead Boy Detectives (April)
Set in The Sandman universe, Dead Boy Detectives is based on a DC comic and looks just as vibrant and fun as its inspiration. The live-action series follows Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine, two ghosts who avoided crossing over to the afterlife so that they can solve mysteries together. Dead Boy Detectives premieres on Netflix in April 2024.
The Penguin (December)
After making a splash in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, Oswald Cobblepot returns in The Penguin. This gritty limited series takes us back to Gotham for high-stakes crime drama and villainous antics contained in eight episodes. The Penguin releases on Max in late December 2024.
Star Wars: The Acolyte (TBA)
How about a prequel to the prequels? The latest live-action Star Wars™ television series The Acolyte™ takes place years before The Phantom Menace™. Set in the High Republic™, it centers around the political intrigue in the earlier days of the Jedi™. The eight-episode series releases in 2024 only on Disney+.
Marvel TV Series 2024
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (TBA)
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries takes place within the MCU continuity. It is a spinoff from WandaVision which focuses primarily on the villain Agatha Harkness as she attempts to regain power following her defeat. The Phase Five project consists of nine episodes, most likely released weekly starting in 2024 β the premiere date is still unknown.
Daredevil: Born Again (TBA)
We just can’t get enough of The Man Without Fear! After his cameo in Echo, Daredevil returns for his own series in Daredevil: Born Again. There is little information about the plot at this time, though the series does follow MCU continuity. Fans can expect two seasons, with season 1 set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2024.
Marvel Zombies (TBA)
What If…? season 1 has a lot of great moments, but people really ate up the zombie episodes. So, we’re getting Marvel Zombies! The animated miniseries has four total episodes, all set to release in 2024 on Disney+.
Eyes of Wakanda (TBA)
As one of the MCU’s most powerful nations, Wakanda captured fans’ attentions immediately. This series, tentatively set for a 2024 release, will focus on Wakanda’s rich history β no doubt introducing us to versions of Black Panther from the past as well as other pieces of Wakandan lore.
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (TBA)
Peter Parker is everybody’s favorite friendly neighborhood hero but sometimes … high school isn’t so friendly. In this upcoming animated series, Spider-Man will have to deal with friends and enemies both old and new all while juggling his complicated origin story. And this time, it’s not Tony Stark who becomes his mentor but Norman Osborn. Uh oh.
X-Men ’97 (TBA)
X-Men fans have been waiting a while for this continuation of the immensely popular ’90s cartoon. This series will pick up right where the original series’ finale left off, with Xavier gone and Magneto possibly stepping in as a guiding force. Nothing could go wrong there, right?
