Geeky Headlines: All the New Trailers You Need to See!

The 2023 holiday season has barely begun, and the gifts are already flowing! In addition to Sideshow’s exciting pre-Black Friday deals, a whole gift basket of new trailers has arrived from some of the biggest franchises out there. Some will be released in 2024 and others will be released by the end of the year, but they all offer long-awaited adaptations, surprising sequels, and fan-favorite returns.

Madame Web

In Theaters Soon

Sony’s newest cinematic entry to their Spider-Man universe spins an enigmatic web of future visions, Spider-heroes, and thrilling Marvel action. Madame Web will chronicle Cassandra Webb’s origin as she understands her newfound powers, becomes allies with Araña and two versions of Spider-Woman, plus grapples with her enemy Ezekiel Sims.

What If…? Season 2

December 22, 2023 (Disney+)

You thought the story was over, but the Multiverse is far from ending anytime soon. The Watcher returns, as do the mind-bending what if…? moments of Marvel’s smash-hit TV series What If…? This time around, we’ll get stories centered on Tony Stark, Captain Carter, Doctor Strange, Hela, and even a new Indigenous hero named Kahhori.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

February 22, 2024 (Netflix)

Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony … and then they came to a live-action adaptation on Netflix. The long-awaited Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action show will soon be streaming, and in addition to the dazzling display of bending, Aang’s journey toward understanding his role as the Avatar looks to be every bit as compelling as the original animated series.

A tropical island full of adorable Pokémon, in beautiful stop-motion animation? Say less! Netflix’s upcoming Pokémon series, Pokémon Concierge, follows Haru, a new hire at a getaway resort aimed at hosting Pokémon of all sorts — even the eternally odd headache known as Psyduck.

Merry Little Batman

December 8, 2023 (Prime Video)

What do Christmas, Damian Wayne, and Lil Jon all have in common? The upcoming holiday special from DC called Merry Little Batman, of course! While Batman is stuck away on a mission, it’s up to young Damian Wayne to defend Gotham City against The Joker’s plan to ruin Christmas. Holy Grinchmas, Batman!

Lisa Frankenstein

February 9, 2024

Over 200 hundred years later, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is still alive and kicking … one way or another. In this upcoming adaptation of the horror classic, Lisa Swallows is a goth girl in the 1980s who sets out to bring a dapper Victorian fellow back from the grave. Sound familiar? Think again, because with Diablo Cody and Zelda Williams at the helm, this adaptation can only get weird in the best way.

The Witcher

Late 2024 (Netflix)

Set between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher season 1, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is set to premiere in late 2024. The film-length animated feature will include Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, plus Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg) and Joey Batey (Jaskier) and new character Essi Daven, voiced by Christina Wren. The film will follow Geralt as he and his allies investigate the centuries-old feud between humans and merpeople in a seaside village — before all-out war erupts.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

March 29, 2024

Before you give any of them a call, grab a jacket! The Death Chill is on its way and if you can’t stand the cold, you better get out of the city. Ghostbusters of past and present all unite to stand against a paranormal freeze that can kill using fear itself. As the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the fifth Ghostbusters film promises a scary good time.

Inside Out 2

June 2024

Hold onto your emotions — Disney Pixar’s Inside Out is also getting a sequel! As Riley gets older and more complex, so do her emotions. Namely, she has a new one to contend with in the form of Anxiety (voiced by Stranger Things‘ Maya Hawke). But, as with any set of emotions, things are never quite so simple and Riley is in for much more than she realizes for Inside Out 2.

Masters of the Universe: Revolution

January 25, 2024 (Netflix)

By the power of Greyskull! Skeletor now wields the Motherboard in a terrifying new display of powerful technology, and He-Man must decide between being the Champion of Eternia or its king. In addition to the above titles, there are also plenty of other upcoming releases that should be on your radar. For the sci-fi fans, Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire will begin streaming on December 15, 2023. Next year, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will swing into theaters on May 24, 2024. On that same day, The Garfield Movie will roll into theaters and for fantasy fans, season 6 of Netflix’s The Dragon Prince will also premiere next year.
