Move over Peter Parker, there’s a new Spider in town! Marvel and Amazon Prime’s upcoming TV series Spider-Noir premieres on May 27, 2026, with all eight episodes streaming. Subscribers to MGM+ can check out the series two days earlier. This sleuthing super hero first debuted on the big screen in the fan-favorite Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Now, he’s swinging onto the small screen.

What is Spider-Noir about?

“Every mystery forms a complex web — but pull the right strand, and it’s a straight line to the answer.”

During the Great Depression, in the crime-ridden streets of New York City, a private investigator named Ben Reilly gets bitten by a strange spider. Suddenly, he’s got the ability to shoot webs from his wrists, swing high above the streets, and even create webs and use a Spider-Sense. The hardboiled hero known as Spider-Man Noir is born.

As “monsters” are on the loose in NYC, Ben’s Spider persona comes at just the right time. It appears that the villain Silvermane is pulling the strings of the city to create a network of corruption. In the comics, Silvermane gains a cybernetic body and even rivals Kingpin at times. Back in the show, Ben Reilly must also grapple with a tragic past, haunted by the death of Ruby. Plus, a new client, Cat Hardy (based on Black Cat from the comics), asks him for help finding her missing friend. It’s all part of a greater mystery that only Spider-Man Noir can solve.

Who is in Spider-Noir?

“What can I say? The world’s a dangerous place. But I think you’re braver than you let on.”

This series takes place on Earth-90214, a Marvel alternate universe that takes its cues from the noir mysteries and thrillers of 1930s cinema. It’s interesting to note that this Spider-Man goes by Ben Reilly, rather than Peter B. Parker like in the comics. In the past, Ben Reilly has been the name of a clone of Peter Parker created by the super-villain the Jackal. However, the series director Orien Uziel clarified the name change is only meant to highlight Spider-Man noir’s contrasting personality from Peter Parker’s signature optimism.

Joining Ben Reilly, we have his assistant Janet (played by Karen Rodriguez) and his journalist friend Robbie Robertson (played by Lamorne Morris). In another potential nod to the comics, there are six villainous characters — Sinister Six, anyone?

Cat Hardy (played by Li Jun Li) is a femme fatale singer who works at Silvermane’s lounge called The Alcove. She pulls Ben Reilly in to search for her boyfriend, Flint Marko AKA Sandman (played by Jack Huston). It looks like Sandman is under the employ of organized crime boss Silvermane (played by Brendan Gleeson), along with Lonnie Lincoln AKA Tombstone (played by Abraham Popoola), Dirk Leydon AKA Megawatt (played by Andrew Lewis Caldwell), and original-to-the-show fiery villain James “Jimmy” Addison (played by Jack Mikesell).
