New Kirby Video Game

During the latest Nintendo Direct, the video game company announced a new installment of the Kirby series. Kirby and the World Beyond takes players on a new adventure as the pink puffball in time for the franchise’s 35th anniversary next year. The game is set for a spring 2027 release on Nintendo Switch 2.

New Casting for Crush

According to Deadline, actress Sarah Catherine Hook has been cast in Crush, an upcoming thriller film from 20th Century Studios. Inspired by true events, Crush is about a hiker who finds herself trapped in the grip of a python. This will be Hook’s first starring role in a feature film, which is set to enter production this fall. Crush has no premiere date at this time.

Drunk History Returns to Comedy Central

The Emmy-winning comedy series Drunk History is set to return with new short-form episodes on Comedy Central’s YouTube channel. The three new episodes will feature inebriated narrators such as Lisa Gilroy, Patton Oswalt, and Critical Role‘s Marisha Ray. The first episode stars Meghan Trainor as Madonna, and the episodes will also include cast members like Steve Agee, Seth Green, Chris Parnell, Mae Whitman, Weird “Al” Yankovic, and more. Drunk History returns on September 15.

Official Trailer for Carrie

Prime Video has released a new official trailer for Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel Carrie. The series will be a modernized take on the classic story, bringing its title character into the Gen Z space, where social media contributes to her bullying as her telekinetic powers awaken. Carrie will be an eight-part television series, premiering all episodes on October 7.
