Digital Comic App Sweet Shop Launches

New digital comics platform Sweet Shop has officially had a public launch after an extended period of beta testing. There are 24 publishers already signed on, and fans can read their favorite Image, Dark Horse, Oni Press, Ignition Press, and more through its digital storefront. This comes in the wake of Comixology’s closure, in a landscape that has no one true heir to the comprehensive digital comics reading experience. Sweet Shop is currently available for Android and Apple devices.

Transformers #1 Goes to 15th Printing

As shared by The Hollywood Reporter, Skybound’s comic Transformers #1 by Daniel Warren Johnson is going to a 15th printing. Originally launched in October 2023, this comic was the launch of the Energon Universe, a shared universe which includes Transformers, G.I. Joe, Void Rivals, and M.A.S.K. The Transformers series has sold about 3.5 million issues since it debuted. Check with your local comic store if you’re looking to discover the Energon Universe.

Casting News for The Curse of Silver

According to Deadline, actors Lily Gladstone and Kiowa Gordon have been set to star in an upcoming supernatural horror-Western called The Curse of Silver. The film takes place in the aftermath of the Civil War, where a cursed chest of Confederate silver unleashes supernatural horrors on a small town. The Curse of Silver will be co-directed by Gordon and Quantum Cowboys director Geoff Marslett.

Giant Void Finds Executive Producer

As reported by Deadline, the upcoming sci-fi drama Giant Void has found an executive producer and new cast. Actor Karl Glusman joins previously cast stars like Molly Burnett, Elaine Hendrix, and Shahjehan Khan. Eduardo Sánchez, best known as the co-creator of The Blair Witch Project, joins to executive produce the film. Giant Void currently has no release date.
